Really don't know where to begin

The header to this forum sub-topic states:
"If you don't know where to start, start here! Don't be afraid to ask questions."
So, I've been browsing this forum for the better part of the morning, and haven't really found what I was searching for.
In particular I was hoping to find some discussion on TRO trading strategy, whether it be what he uses now, or what he has introduced that others have picked up to trade with success.
I realize one needs to develop their own approach, but I was just hoping to see the methods a seasoned and successful trader uses.
Also, the free indicators are so numerous I haven't the slightest clue of where to start on this forum to discover how people apply some of these indicators to their trading.
Is there a forum topic where TRO maybe shares his strategy (step by step) and shows examples? Does TRO use indicators at all?

welcome to kreslik , stay on board lol (it is well worth the effort, although it is hard work, almost like any business)

come to the chat room 'two percent club' at paltak.com and ask there when tro is around (goes faster)

follow the active threads (just select from the header)

further read the NLA thread ....

tro is most active now with DTB like a rat

http://kreslik.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=25593#25593

it takes a while b4 you will be comfortable browsing thru the forum

Thanks for the timely response forexbob.
What/Where is the NLA thread?
I started reading the thread of the link you provided (thank you), but does TRO provide his approach (rules to entry etc) within that forum topic (i haven't gone through the 175 pages to that particular thread yet lol)?

LOL, pretty much if you read ANY four consecutive pages of the Drain The Banks - Like A Rat thread, you will get the rules!

I'd give some more pointers now, but I'm at work. I simply couldn't pass up the chance to reply to this first though.

If I have time tonight, (and if no one beats me to it), I'll see what I can add to set a trader in a good direction.

But you found this site, so that's the best thing first & foremost!

TygerKrane, thanks a bunch. Any input or suggestions you might have I would be open to listening. It's also nice to hear that you may have personally gained from this forum, which can be encouraging to newcomers to sit and stay a while.
Look forward to any responses.

Rat Trading wrote:"The technique is so simple that just several lessons (or a few pages of explanations) cover it all. Now what? Now the student has to practice, practice and practice again to understand what he had been taught. The teacher DOES know much more than the student, but his understanding can't be "passed", "transferred" or taught in any way -- not even by reading books."

Also, helpful to take your trades WITH THE H1 candle color. Also choose one rat color and stick with it. There are a few other suggestions that come up along the way as well... something about not trading long within 100 pips below week open and vice versa for not trading short within 100 pips above week open.

But you'll still have to read LOL. (I sincerely hope you believe me on that one.)

And for crying out loud, don't forget to read the story in the first post of the DTB-Like a Rat thread, that's the most fun, illuminating part! (and it makes for a pretty decent good story at a cocktail party)

ps- I must be in some type of mood today to have actually compiled this together...

ok, so where to start but from the beginning I guess. I clicked on the first link you provided and started reading. Got to the bottom of page 1 and realized there were 174 pages to go...come on, really!?
Got to page 9 and was a little put off and discouraged by what I was reading. Got to page 10 and found this little gem:
TheRumpledOne wrote:What is the fascination some traders have with SQUIGGLY LINE indicators?

I see people spending a lot of time on them.

DON'T YOU REALIZE THEY ARE A MYTH?

SEE PRICE.

SEE PRICE MOVE.

SEE PRICE MOVE UP.

SEE PRICE MOVE DOWN.

THOSE ARE THE ONLY WAYS THAT PRICE MOVES.

SEE TIME.

WHAT TIME IS IT?

WHAT'S THE PRICE?

WHAT TIME IS IT NOW?

WHAT'S THE PRICE?

DID PRICE GO UP OR DOWN?

IT IS ALL RELATIVE!!

WHAT DO YOU THINK A SQUIGGLY LINE INDICATOR IS GOING TO TELL YOU THAT YOUR EYES CAN'T TELL YOU?

DO YOU BELIEVE THERE IS SOME MAGIC FORMULA THAT WILL ENABLE YOU TO SEE THE FUTURE?

WHAT IS THE HIGH OF THE DAY?

IS PRICE NEAR THAT HIGH?

IS PRICE GETTING CLOSER TO THAT HIGH?

IS PRICE AT THE HIGH OF THE DAY?

IS PRICE MAKING A NEW HIGH?

IS PRICE MOVING AWAY FROM THE NEW HIGH OF THE DAY?

WHAT IS THE LOW OF THE DAY?

IS PRICE NEAR THAT LOW ?

IS PRICE GETTING CLOSER TO THAT LOW ?

IS PRICE AT THE LOW OF THE DAY?

IS PRICE MAKING A NEW LOW ?

IS PRICE MOVING AWAY FROM THE NEW LOW OF THE DAY?

TRADING IS SIMPLE.

DO NOT COMPLICATE IT.

Will continue reading in the morning, thanks

The NLA thread is 744 pages. After that read the lukx zline thread which is up to 450 pages and growing. It is a lot of reading, but it goes faster the second or third time through.

Todd,

You wont be wasting your time reading thru both those threads, Drain the Banks and I'd also add MOs Blind mouse Strategy thread as another one to the list (leave it till last, as it helps to understand some of the concepts in the earlier threads)

It takes some time, but I believe its worth it. The more time you spend reading, the less time you'll spend losing money when your done.

it looks maybe overwhelming, all these helping posts. and i can imagine your first thought is 'never in a lifetime i am going to read all this stuff'

but i admit it helps :-) ; and i am thankfull for all the help i found in this forum

what further helped me where the links tro dropped regarding books,
