Hi,

Actually there is a little problem with this forum, it keeps getting bigger and bigger with endless study, you go through pages and pages and then you find some useful information. Ocean of information is good and bad at the same time, there needs to have some parked items on the very top. Some readings, some guidelines. e.g. All these methods like
DTB, BZ, Crash Zone etc, if they are summarized with a couple of ground rules and indicators / templates, that will help all the newbies.

I gone over most of the threads on this forum, but now i am losing track of all of them and forgot all the rules for these systems.

Is that request a possbility

Here's what I'd suggest. Watch your new post tab top middle of page. Stay in tune with the most active posted threads, these are the ones that are most participated in. Click watch this topic for replies, top right, you'll get an email every time someone post the thread. Study along from the start to get up to speed with what folks are discussing. Work on figuring out what time frames and hours you trade, your style, then you can go from there. Feel free to ask questions for guidance. Folks are more than willing to help you find your way. Welcome,

I almost feel like the time one takes to find and absorb all this information is sort of like a rite of passage. Like everyone says, "There is no easy way out" You really need to put in all these hours to fully understand everything. That is my take.

Just read NLA a few times and then you'll have a good base.

I am not denying the benefit of reading, it is good. But if we have some concise rules for these systems and then start looking at the charts may be thats another approach.

By the way, NLA is good but it is way too much. There are some useful bits and pieces but not every page is useful.

Yes agree there is no easy way, but going over 700 pages, there are few things we can do to make the process much simple.

i go with tman, i go with new posts...
although sometimes it goes fast and parts are skipped by me
which i only see later when i reread a thread.

and some threads are not actively posted 'anymore' but still can be very usefull

for example the 3clipz method or the thread of zapzinig
( http://kreslik.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2005 ) with the links for NLA and other threads archive, so you can read them offline

and by reading offline, some superfluous info is not a problem. we are all at another stage. what is totally not needed for one, can mean that for another the light-bulb goes on.

so still some sticky pointers would be great for newbies

Agree with a table of contents and understand that not all post in a particular thread are helpful. You have to figure it out as you go. I've read the NLA thread but admit that after 100 pages or so I figured out what I needed to pay attention to and what I needed to pass over. It seems overwhelming at first but after plugging away a little every day, you'll figure out how to get the most out of it. I've actually come to a point where I spend more time in the forum than reading trading books. Something about watching traders evolve before your very eyes, I can't put my finger on it just yet, but it will come.

Methods Summary

I share the general feeling being a newbie to this forum. I think we need a "newbie MUST READ section". List out exactly how many official methods we have in this forum (dtb, bz, rat rev, etc...), what are they and summary of their rules and template/indi in ONE place.

It would help a great for a newbie to very quickly have a good overview and then decide which specific thread he/she would like to read. Better still, if you can suggest and prioritise a list of threads for reading.....

Obviously, this would take some work from your part.....just a suggestion of the forum admin (Kreslik, TRO)?

The first read should be NLA thread. It's long but well worth the effort. If you can take in 50 pages a day you're only two weeks away from a good education. I would suggest going from there to the Lukx zline thread. Read TRO's rat trading thread/threads, by this time you will have have figured out what direction you want to take. The most experienced traders in the forum are TRO, Mighty One, Dragon33, and es/pip, and others you'll figure out along the way. Follow these traders. A lot is going to depend on your style. Buckle down everything you need to learn to be profitable is contained in the forum. Think of it like you would eating an elephant, one bite at a time. I was where you are now 6 months ago. I've learned more here in 6 months than the three years I spent reading books and trying to figure it out on my own. Cheers,

this should be placed as a sticky

http://kreslik.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1744&start=0

to always appear on the front and with no further discussion on it

nkhawaja,

Just want to share my insight for what it is worth. Dont sell short the volumes of knowlege one can aquire from reading these blogs from start to finish. I started trading 15 months ago upon reading Baby pips. I knew nothing about trading. To all the newbies, (maybe I am still one, time will tell) read these forums, here on kreslik. Practice on a a demo account. I spend 40 hours a week on this forum reading and one day it just clicks. The anxiety disappears, money management rules start to get followed, only because of experience, you get tired of losing everything. It was just six weeks ago I PM'd some of the wise ones here on Kreslik , ready to quit, and a few of them were kind enough to respond. I know everyones situation is different, for me there willingness to answer questions when I had them and give a few kind words of support, broke down the very barrier that was keeping me from seeing it, getting it. It has been two weeks tomorrow and I am averaging 180 pips per day. I dont say this for approval or bragging rights! I say this because I know how frustrating it can be for the so called newbies, wanting to quit. I was there, my wife & kids are my fuel, I want to offer them a better life. One last note, re read the forums 6 months from now, you will be amazed at how much more will make sense. All the methods used here i have fornd my own which has morphed frome others trading ideas and methods. Just felt a need to post and I hope this is encouraging for someone out there. I hope to pay if forward some day when i can understand the basis for which i trade enough to explain it others.
A special thanks to Dchappy, TRO, Dragon and monolisa, and yes still tryinbg to make sense of the Mighty One post. Thank you to you all.
