Can someone explain what exactly "semafor" is?

I have tried searching the forums and Google and I still don't understand what exactly Semafor is.

Is it the trendlines that are drawn in with the "3_Level_ZZ_Semafor". Kind of like the channel lines that the price moves around.

Is it the points of correction/reversal as it relates to Elliott Waves.

Or is Semafor the different support and resistance areas?

The proper spelling of semafor, is "semaphore" which means "signal."

For our purposes it is a WingDing font character that looks like a circle with a 1, 2 or 3 in the middle of it.

It is part of the "3_Level_ZZ_Semafor_TRO_MODIFIED_VERSION" indicator used in the "Drain the Banks" (DTB) system.

The "semafors" represent the peaks of 3 zig-zag indicators with different settings (the zig zag lines are not show with the 3-level zz semafor" indicator, however, only the vertices).

The (3) peaks they change thought.

If there is a high spike at a certain time a (3) might appear and then a few moments later if there is an even higher spike then the previous (3) will be removed and added to this new spike.

So how do you go about trading with this tool if the (3) might change places.

Looking at a historic graph hindsight is always 20/20 however in real-time those (3) change locations usually.

I can't agree with you more. I am also 100% profitable and see everything exactly right when I look at completed bars and completed charts in what ever time frame. I see those 3Semafors and think who can't I trade them high to low?

I do believe that price action and movement does leave clews for us to learn and follow that comes with lots of study and screen time and experience. In this there are no short cuts.

One set of clews to coming price movement, and when a 3Semafor, or 2 or 1, will stay where we want it to, are found in the H1, H4 and D1 charts. Here we move from exactness to art. Price action is whatever price does at any point in time. It doesn't care a bit what I want or think. This is where 2% risk money management is essential. I think one thing and the market says I don't care about the 3Semafor, I am going higher and higher right now. Oh, the market says back to me, sorry about your loss on that short trade.

Every time you see a Semafor form, always be mindful that it is subject to move where it wants depending on the current forming candle as well as coming candles yet to begin forming. These guys, what ever they do are our best friends.

You may want to open up TRO's code for these indicators and print it out and go over what the code is doing and why the 1-2-3 semafors form and also move and stay put. This will help you know what is going on.

So semafors are a part of a bigger, multi-faceted picture of which money management is a key part.

This has been asked repeatedly. TRO has explained multiple places how to trade the Drain the Banks system. Feel free to browse some of those threads. There are at least three of them.

Yes the semaphor moves when there is a trend or as it finds it point of retracement - So many of us only play the semaphor in the direction of the larger trend.
