Hi,

My name is Tim and i would just like to introduce myself to what appears to be a great wealth of information. I began using NINJA trad a week ago and like most chose it due to the cost being something I could afford. Little did I know the path it would take me down. I am now neck deep in code (which i think is c++) and their strategy wizard. I found some great indicators on this site someone coded over from The Rumpled One's vault. WOW is all I can say. I am a trader first and a programmer second and I have to say that I have to give many on here allot fo credit. I feel after looking at allot of sites, this one ROCKS!!!. Well mostly because what i have found is that if people are still looking for new indicators they havent found a system they feel grounded with. If this is the case perhaps they arent as profitable as they want to be and can't afford the rediculous amounts of money people want for custome indicators. I see on this site there is no central NINJA script forun etc. I would love it if one could be created , I know there has to be some ninja users out there. So far the ninja team has been unbeleaiveble to e on theyre support site also. I also have recorded data avilble also that there is no central hub for yet. I am more than willing to post what info I have in the hopes that others will too. Well if u use nija and have some indicators you dont mind sharing please post or just say hi.

Thanks for a great site

Tim,

Well congratulations on finding a very good platform that happens to be free (for simulated trading). I am a huge fan of NinjaTrader and I have to tell you they offer some things such as advanced order placement (stop limit orders anyone?) that simply don't exist anywhere else.

I agree with you that the beginning trader often spends months if not years looking for that ultimate indicator "The Holy Grail". Those that pass through this gateway discover on the other side that no indicator will make them a successful trader. YOU are the Holy Grail in your trading success. Glad to see that you're coming to that stage.

That being said there are hundreds of indicators (free I might add) on this site so that hopefully those beginning their trading journey need not spend thousands of dollars on indicators (which won't make you a successful trader anyway). As Avery and other successful traders have mentioned before - they could trade successfully with virtually any indicator or just price on the screen.

I too would love to see a NinjaTrader section added to the site (even though I mostly use NeoTicker with NinjaTrader for execution) I'm sure we could all benefit by having code for Ninja on the forum.

Ninja Trader most certainly has some very user-friendly features.

However, for those wishing to trade off a chart it seems to offer no STOP orders, and very-limited-tick-away LIMIT orders?

And the confirm order placement box is quite a few nano seconds away from the order buttons!

Or have I missed a thing or two?

I like NinjaTrader. It is simpler and more straight forward in how you make custom indicators. I just learned C# for NeoTicker but it was less intuitive. On the other hand, NeoTicker offers more functionality and features in charting like putting two or more data series on the same chart.

However, I think I prefer NinjaTraders simplicity, personally.

Trading through NinjaTrader for MB Trading isn't very good since it doesn't support TTO orders and the Stop and Target orders require full margin for each one. So in effect it takes twice the margin to trade through NinjaTrader than through MBT Navigator directly.

So I use NinjaTrader for charting and MBT Navigator for entering trades.

Sincerely,
Wayne

Yes Khalid, you have missed a thing or three.

Firstly get rid of the order confirmation if you wish to have rapid-fire entries. Tools > Options > General Tab > uncheck Confirm Order Placement.

Secondly, for stop, limit, and stop limit orders on Chart Trader, put in a strategy.

Thirdly, check out NT's video how-to list here for a whole host of options you probably don't know about.

My advice? Be curious....

NT is state-of the-art. Nothing else comes close IMO.

Ozfader,

Thank you so very much for the guidance; I just need to ido intense Ninja this weekend.

Wayne,

Thank yoy for your feedback. For me it only has to be only one platform, one screen with one chart of what I want to trade!

Hy Khalid,

where is it possible to find this strategy to test in ninja and in multicharts?
