Hi,
Could anyone do me a big favour and upload a copy of the custexch.txt file found in the Tradestation 8.2 subdirectory TradeStation8.2\CAL\Custexch.txt
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Toothfish
I checked the directory you list and did a search of my harddrive for Custexch.txt and did not find this file anywhere on my harddrive. I currently have TS 8.2 build 3863.

Thanks Patch. Mine is 8.2 3863 too.
I was trying to use 3rd party ascii data into tradestation in offline mode. However when I choose exchange there is nothing to choose from. Based on the help it said I need custexch.txt file.
Thanks for your time.
Do you use 3rd party data?

Hi Toothfish
I am about to head in for work. Wondering how you are able to get third part software into TS. Try a google or whatever search for the file and also search the TS site. If you are using a third party to get the feed in, search their site also. When I searched via Google I got:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=cu ... gle+Search
Let me know what you find.

Hi Patch,
I've worked out what the file contains.
it has the exchange and time zone code
ie in the file
AMEX,18
This allowed me to continue with the ascii data
But then when it comes to loading the data the whole program crashes.
I'm too frustrated with this new version of tradestation, there's too many bugs. I'm going back to an older version and using Owndata program as an external offline data feed. That was much more reliable

Its next to impossiple. To get third [arty data into TS 8.2.
the file you are looking for custexch.txt , is a file you must make up.
The instructions as to what is needed is vague. I have not been able to import ASCII no matter how many time I tried. Nor have I been able to import Metastock data. You can make up as many files as you wish and define it until you are blue and it will never work

Amen to that!

I am using Metastock EOD data in TradeStation 8.2, to do that I had to create one file named "attributes: in note pad and put that file in the metastock data.

Ferdous,
you simply put the file in the metastock folder?
can you show an example of the file you created?
