Michal:

After your review, could you give me your assessment of MT4 and some Forex brokers. Your opinion would sufice for my further study.

Also, in your estimation, for a guy with mid level programming skills, how difficult will it be to convert TS strategies and indicators to MT4?

I would like to get an assesment before I start down this road.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

The key phrase here is "platfrom AND a broker". We need to find the best platform/broker combination so that we will be able to backtest and also trade automatically within the confines of the same platform. So far, NeoTicker AND EFX group FX broker (recommended by Avery, too) seems to be the choice for me, but not until Wouter of Grail systems comes with his GGO version for NeoTicker.

GA in MetaTrader4 is not ready for a serious work so far. But this may change. We will see.

From the first glimpse, the Meta Quotes Language 4 resembles C/C++ very much. EasyLanguage is based on Pascal, so the structure is quite different. I think that Meta Quotes Language 4 is more difficult than EasyLangauge, but also more powerful. Think of it as a comparison between Pascal and C++.

Also, have a look at my post regarding GA availability in NeoTicker:

Hello all

Have you seen TradeBolt ? Citation from their web:"TradeBolt will take buy/sell order signals from any signal-generating system and automatically send them to any broker for execution within milliseconds. "

I think that forex trade automation would be possible with this gizmo-software, but i did'nt test it so ...

Thanks for the link, fretka.

I've heard of TradeBolt before, but never knew that was an automation software.

I've now had a look at their pages. The stumbling block is they don't support any plausible FX brokers yet.

I've used Tradebolt. It's rock solid.

But it's merely an interface to the Pats System brokerage API.

I prefer Ninja Trader over it because of the lack of a Tradebolt UI that you can really use last time I checked.

I guess with an API connectivity on both sides (platform/broker), there's no need for tricky solutions like that.

Why not hook up the platform directly to the broker?
