Big Problem with NT

I was told by NT that if I right clicked on an order screen I could select the orders to go directly to Trade Simulator. This advice was costly.

I did as they said and verifed that the Trade Simulator was checked and then proceeded to go long on the EUR/USD.

Something did not feel right. So I brought the account manger and check if an real postions were opened.

Sure enough there was. So I ht the go flat button. Nothing seemed to happened. Then I hit serveral times. It was adding to the portions. By the time I got a hold of MB Trading I was long 5 contracts and down.

Heys, I am not a complainer, but I have had nothing but trouble with this program. I stand in doubt of it.

Patch,

No reponse yet. To their credit I am sure they will respond shortly. If I did not sound to mean on my email. Hope not. I tried to calm down when I wrote it.

Am I glutton for punishment or what? I tried the thing again this morning. I fignured last night had to be something I did. I just did not know the program well enough. WRONG!

I opened the order form, right clicked inside it and check the Trade Simulator button.

This time I brought up the Account Manager and had the MB Trrading Order Inferface visable.

Did a trade. Same this happend. The trade went into the simulator and also live. I was using build 8. I called MB Trading just ot make sure what was happening. Sure enough I was in 5 contracts of EUR/USD going the wrong. way.

Anyway, I am turning off the computer for a awhile to sort out my emotions. Out till Monday.

Guys, this may well be something I am doing. I don't believe so, but it could be. The program is very complicated. Good Luck!

Just go with caution in this area.

This stinks out loud.

Great move to turn off your computer and I agree with you about emotions, though I think you were kinda stupid to do it again prior to hearing from NT, though to be honest with you I would have done the same thing just to be sure.

My emotions are the primary reason I decided a couple months ago to move towards autotrading. And even since I have been testing several systems these past two months, as I watch what is going on, several times I have been tempted to close out trades that are near the preset trade goal!!! Wow.

J, I you need to understand that if you have logged in to EFX with a live account your trades taken on NT will be live. I believe the trade simulator is only there for non exectable data like esignal. I you want to sim trade, try opening a demo account with EFX then use Neo to log in to the demo account. I think that this is how it works. Sorry for your losses, but if you are a rookie, then be prepared for more losses due to others errors and your own.

Viper and Patch,

Thanks for your concern and input. I usually take responsibilty for things. I am waiting for NT responses. All I really know so far it they told me I can use and order form and right click on the it, check the trade simulator and the orders are routed to the simulator not to the broker. Try is yourself. There is a good chance something else got in the way. I only beef is it should not be this complicated.

J, sorry I did not mean you were not taking personal responsibility. You are right though it does seem a little complex. When I do demos for new strategies, with either of the three brokers we use, I set the demo execution platform up on my laptop, and the live data on my PC, this makes sure that I don't loose my own or my clients money.

Did NeoTicker ever get back to you about what happened with live trades being placed?

Viper,

Don't worry about offending me. I used the "personal responsibility' language simple to remind me that at the end of the day it is my responsibility.

As far as demo. You are correct. I just wanted to use the exact trade order form I use for live trades. The trade simulator does not line up exactly with the NT order forms. That is why I went this route in the first place. Believe me I will be trading from the Trade Simulator for new ideas from now on.

Patch,

NT has not opened discussion as to a possilbe bug. So far they indicate it works. I think I will let the Beta tester try it out and wait for the version 5 to come ha ha

Have a great one guys, 8)

Place the issue in the public support forums. They always respond to that.
