I agree it is superior. To trading without any software.

Their trade costs are twice as high as the trade costs of the best FX brokers. I trade only FX, so I am not interested/have not researched anything else (equities, futs etc.).

biotin_max wrote:Opportunities using easy language are basically endless

I'd prefer to say the opportunities to get a headache using easylanguage are basically endless. EasyLanguage is no match for Delphi Script which you can use in Neo (as well as other languages).

For example, how would you declare such a simple data type as the multidimensional dynamic array in EasyLanguge? Or how would you do such a basic thing as setting an array size based on user's input? No way in EL.

biotin_max wrote:Back testing was perfectly sufficient

For me and other sophisticated traders it was not. Basic things such as being able to reference the order name which generated the trade within EL were not present. No second-stamped data. etc. etc.

biotin_max wrote:Biggest problem with TS is their atrocious tech and customer support.

I don't think so. The real cornerstone of the present dismal state of the Tradestation platform is not the customer support but the core business shift.

The employees are able to do only what their managers allow them to. Many of the TS staff guys are great and willing to help. But what can they do if the management simply decides that TS development is not worth the money.

biotin_max wrote:One more problem is FX non-integration into TS

TS has been promising this for years already. In fact, this illustrates the frustration of the TS support guys. They can't tell you Tradestation is not interested in FX automation publicly. So they are generating the fog by making statements like "we are working on it" even if they know it is a lie. But are they really guilty? I guess not. The owners and the managers are to blame.

biotin_max wrote:I'm afraid this post might contain much more helpful and/or/even life changing info than your 'I quit TS cause they wronged me by lagging on the answer' posts.

I'm not interested in TS not being able to address my questions. I'm solely interested in making money. The biggest reason for me leaving Tradestation is the lack of FX automation. I will make more money more consistently with another platform by using FX automation. The bonus I get by switching to Neo is that the new platform is superior to Tradestation.

biotin_max wrote:(Just checking if this post will stick on this board ;))

Why shouldn't it? Anyone is free to post anything on this forum (well except for pornography, swearing etc.). This was why we did set it up. On the other hand, no one can post freely on the Tradestation forums. My articles got deleted there without me being told the reason (although I have asked).

"The employees are able to do only what their managers allow them to."
"The owners and the managers are to blame."

Michal,
Thank you for pointing out the responsibilities. It is so basic ...The change
has to come from the top.

"The real cornerstone of the present dismal state of the Tradestation platform is not the customer support but the core business shift."

Michal,
In fact, the strategy of Tradestation is NOT to be the best of trading
software but one of the top in the brokerage business. They achieved
their goal. The owners have make millions in stock because of their
correct strategy. The "Cruz brothers" are business genius!!! (They studied music in school?).

"Anyone is free to post anything on this forum."
Michal,
You are a genius by seeing a genius TRO. You created this forum for him.
It is amazing with TRO, he is really gifted and generous. He is the best of the best in term of helping traders.
You are "young and academic", he is "old and experience". Both of you
combine will make this forum an OUTSTANDING one.

Thank you

Michal,

Strong points in your post above. I agree 100%.

The problem for most TS users including myself is getting ourselves mobilized to another platform. Seeing you do this will hopefully get the rest of us ready to move. Congratulations on your move onward and upward.

Eudaimonia (pron.: you-die-moan-e-a) (Greek: εὐδαιμονία) is a classical Greek word commonly translated as 'happiness'. The less subjective "human flourishing" is often preferred as a translation.

I hope someone can answer thse questions on Neo:
1) I understand that you can use scripting languages in Neo. Since I have to learn Ruby for my other profession can I use Ruby on Neo as well?
2) One of my main programming gripes with TS is the lack of ability to capture mouse movements with EL. Can Neo programatically capture mouse movements (e.g. position, clicks etc)?
3) Does Neo's order of calculation run each bar at a time or each graph at a time. The latter is how TS does it and seems to cause a lot of synchronization progblems.
4) Can bars be referenced by bar number and not just time and date like TS (for certain functions like Trend line drawing)?

Many Thanks

I recommend you visit: http://forums.neoticker.com
You can register and post questions in the support forums even if you have not yet subscribed to NeoTicker. Your first 10 posts have to be approved by the moderator.

There are much better people to answer your questions but I'll give it a shot.

1) Not that I am aware of. They give examples in Delphi Script, VBScript and JavaScript.
2) Don't know
3) If you mean update, you can set it to update after each bar or update by tick too.
4) Yes

Age is relative. If TRO hadn't turned his back on the camera, we could judge for ourselves how the years have treated him! - Jeff

And now there's even a free "Explorer" version of Borland Delphi for .NET available:

for Knight09 and others
Not sure if you are aware of http://www.autohotkey.com/ free, open source C [plus plus] (if you need it) . Records (can be edited & delayed) and plays back keyboard, joystick, and mouse control. I use it for my weekly data downloads of eSignal.
