Thanks for the response TRO, your work with Michal is much appreciated.

The main reason behind the request was that I might want to look at markets you haven't researched e.g. I've seen you post that you don't trade futures so if I wanted to look at the Buy Zone on the mini dow then I've not seen any stats/parameters posted? Hence I'd need to run some to come up with some parameters ...

My thinking was that if I knew the logic then I could ensure that any stats I generated were valid (which of course I'd be happy to post when done)

The other reason was simply curiosity.

Allen,

For miniDOW please check these out:

ONLY between 9:30 ET and 15:30 ET for hourly open on the hour OR on the half hour
ENTRIES: open plus 10 for Buy; open minus 10 for SellShort
STOP 13 ticks
PROFIT TARGET 20 ticks

I have never BuyZoned the miniDOW; these are equivalent of my emini S&P 500 settings.

EXPERIMENT with, and adjust, the settings until you feel comfortable BEFORE risking real money.

TRO is spot on: do not reinvent the wheel.

Khalid

Allen,

For your reassurance; my emini S&P 500 settings are equivalent to my understanding of TRO's FOREX settings!

TS strategy code ?

Postby jtrade » Tue Jun 03, 2008 8:22 am

TRO - can you remember (!) if you ever posted the strategy code for the BuyZone, please, and if so where it might be ?

I want to test various ideas around different session opening times and longer term trade hold periods.

J.

thank you TRO
Works great for me, both on Forex and Emini's

TRO, what time frame do you use to setup a trade on EUR-USD ?
Is it better to trigger at 5, 15, 30 or 60 min ?

You are so right TRO,
trow away all the wothless indicators, this how one should trade the Forex markets.

Where do you put your stop loss after the you pulled the trigger ?
And where do you get out of the market, and take profit ?
