then put the Buy Zone indicator back in the chart.

Buy Zone Stats

Postby jstockman » Sat Mar 17, 2007 7:06 pm

TRO,

I would like to use the excel management matrix you gave us. What are the win % of the buy zone strategy.

Regards,

Jimmyj

I would like to get this "no lines" thing cleared up. TRO or anybody have any ideas as to why the lines wont show on the chart? Is there some setting I need to have on or off?

Dummy's Guide to TRO Buy Zone question

Postby jtrade » Wed Mar 21, 2007 3:02 pm

You go LONG when there's a green candle between the blue lines and go short when there's a red candle between the red lines.

Hi, TRO, greetings fron Amsterdam & thanks for the code !

Does "When there's a green candle between the lines" mean "When a green candle closes within the lines" (because it might be green but change to red by the time it closes) ?

Yes, it might change colors.. that is a part of trading and that is why I will exit with tiny profits and wait for another chance.

Sometimes you make $100s, sometimes you make $20s but it all adds up!

Robert - when I imported TRO's indicator and workspace, my chart plotted without the horizontal lines as you describe. When I set the custom session, they appeard : TS deletes custom sessions on import unless they are already setup on your computer. Did you set up the custom session ?

HTH.

Thank you for your post. I did get the deleted session message that you speak of but when I go to Format/Symbol (see attached screenshot), it looks as if it is still there. I also tried to setup a new custom session with the same name and that wouldn't work either. I've tried on two different machines to get this to work. Also, I am confused as to why I would need a custom session if I'm only trading stocks 9:30-400?

You can change the chart to any session you want.

Then change the inputs to whatever start time you want.

Also, change the buyzone inputs to match the instrument you are trading.

I use .10, .20, .20 for stocks and .0003 and .0004 for EURUSD, USDCHF, GBPUSD, and .30 and .40 for USDJPY. For futures, you have to figure it out yourself.

Very good, Cap'n TRO, but being rather slow I'm still not clear what you are doing...

On GBPUSD, for example, you're netting 3 pips up through the Buy Zone and 4 pips down through the Sell Zone, each time through - correct ?

If I'm right, pass the rum...
