Here is the eSignal "Poor Man's SlotMachine" (PMSM) for the Middle indicator. One for daily interval and one for 60 Minute interval.
All you have to do is look at the color of the numbers on the Y-Axis to quickly know if the price is above or below the middle.

jhtumblin wrote:Interesting that you just happend to post about the 60 min overlay on the 5 min. I just happened to modify the showme a few nights ago just to serve this purpose.
Instructions: Load up a 1,5,3 or whatever chart and then insert the 30 or 60 min chart on top of that. Apply this indicator to the larger timeframe and it will mark the previous bar's middle in purple and the current middle in yellow underneath the smaller timeframe.
There is code commented out where I attempted to draw trendlines to the prior bar, but it just kept drawing a new trendline for the current middle every time the price updated, resutling in 3 billion lines which lags out the chart eventually. If anybody can fix that, I think it would be better than what it is now.
jhtumblin,
I can't seem to get the dots to plot on anything except the higher timeframe. Any suggestions?

Variation on the Middle Theme
I have been using a variation of TRO's Middle method of trading that you all might be interested in from a trading or programming standpoint....
I use a 20 minute and 1 minute chart on the SandP futures market ...
FOR A LONG ENTRY:
If the 20 minute price value is above the previous candle's middle point and if it also is above it's current candle's middle value...
the long trend is established....
AND THEN...
I will focus on the 1 minute chart and look for a candle OPENING above the previous candle's middle point...
I will then take long entry...vice versa for a short entry...
A close on the 1 minute chart below the previous candle's low will stop the long sequence and necessitate a rotation of focus back to the 20 minute to re-establish the trend...
AND THEN YOU DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN!
I have been seeing some nice trades using this and just wanted to share....
In the same spirit as the Rumpled One and others have been doing on this amazing thread ...
If anyone can program this in Easylanguage(I am still using TS) or whatever please do so...

Trade in the direction of the last middle cross.
Use a 60 minute chart.
If the price crosses above the middle of the previous candle, buy. Then if the price crosses below the middle of the current candle, sell.
If the price crosses below the middle of the previous candle, sell. Then if the price above below the middle of the current candle, buy.
Use this as a "compass" to indicate trade direction.
TRO,
You use statistcs as to timeframes % etc. Can you share them with use. I am doing as you are instructing, but it seems to be a crap shoot.

In the screen shot, the magenta "+" is the previous candle's middle and the cyan "+" is the current candle's middle.
Do you see how the price crosses for a profit?
Watch it happen a few times to build your confidence, then start pipping away!
