Re: yale student
and there it is!
finally created my own thread after 7 years of just reading
documented 3 months+ of live trading
100 pages
hundreds of trades
thousands of transactions probably
it flew by
felt like 2 weeks
we went from es to euro to crude oil
hopefully i helped some people
and didnt fk anyones trading up
i had a blast boys (and potentially girls)
certainly learnt a lot ---- mostly about image sharing services and bypassing antispam mechanisms lol
seriously tho
i wanted to start scalping more ---- and i finally pushed myself here
the obligation that i made on the first page kept me here in the beggining
even tho scalping AND sharing it at the same time wasnt comfortable
but as we know the hardest part in life is often to just show up ---- and the rest will take care of itself
so i did
and it did
moved up from 1 lot to my normal size (and even beyond) rather quickly
and in the process found a nice middle ground between scalping and my normal trading habits (which was more day trade-ish)
i had to end it somewhere
im not getting much from doing this anymore
it got too comfortable actually
also i think people reading are not getting anything new
its the right moment in my opinion
i think i will still be posting SOMETHING here
not sure what yet
if anyone has any ideas feel free to share
if anyone has any questions feel free to ask
since i will get a little more time on my hands now i will try to help as much as i can
special thanks do Lem, Alias and DC
but also to anyone who came here and participated in any way
xoxo

If you are looking for a pet project how about a slower break down of Order flow
How a prop firm views the techniques
The tools you originally used
How you get your stops so tight most of the time
etc.

Where is it?
IT'S NOT WHAT YOU TRADE, IT'S HOW YOU TRADE IT!
Please do NOT PM me with trading or coding questions, post them in a thread.

"WHICH ZL TO TRADE"
is THE question
many asked it throughout the years on this forum
(not only on this forum actually)
and the answer is: you dont know
and i can tell you for a fact that nobody does
its the bad and the good news at once
you can look closely at the chart
or you can look right into the market
look at transactions, orders etc.
and you just cant tell
most of the time there is a dude bidding hunderds of contracts
and a dude asking hundreds of contracts
and one of them is going to take a loss
the point is that boys with hundreds of $millions dont know either
i can see them fking up
matter of fact i try to profit of that sometimes
in my trading career ive seen, with my own eyes, people clipping 1000 - 2000 lots
and taking loss 3 ticks later after a minute
huge experienced traders taking many small loses and trying to get into the trade
the only thing you can do is to know YOUR edge
and i agree with Lem and Al
you dont want to confuse yourself now trojoh
ESPECIALLY if you can stay around BE+
just apply more screentime
es/pip used to tell me that
dragon33 used to tell me that
at the certain level - at which i believe you are
there is nothing we can tell you that would help
at least i dont have the mechanical set of rules
and never seen someone who did
i mean i already posted somewhere here the story about a guy who traded calendar spreads
long story short: he had the most mechanical system ive ever seen
he showed me what he does live
he explained it to me
i sat down next to him and absolutely ate my arse for 2 hours
in the end of the day we are betting on the events that never happened before
its all in the most minuscule details
everything is important
just do the screentime
i know it sounds like a cliche
but if someone asked me how to play golf better
i would suggest to do more golfing
the only thing that i would suggest is to keep your head open
i remember as a kid everytime we got something new ---- like a TV
my father would always grab the manual and i would always grab a remote
test stuff, challenge the ideas
if you treat ZL like an order flow pattern
remember that markets are super effective
one time it will work perfectly as it should
and other time it will do exactly the opposite
small/ medium traders join the moves
but big traders try to break/ create the moves
they need a lot of people to take the loss so they cant just join the move
they will push through ZL/ support/ demand
wick some people out
or fk up the whole setup and make everyone pay
if a setup is working too much it should stop working
unless you got something super complex and very hard to spot
but if its a chart A -> B -> C setup it SHOULD get tested
its not a bad setup!
it means its good enough for market maker to notice it
just a few thoughts
post some charts if you like
maybe there will be some obvious stuff to point out
but again
if you stay around BE+ then i would take a blind guess that it's more about refining the details
Thanks for your counsel, pawel. All of you are certainly describing where I am at in my development, so I am taking all of your advice to heart and will continue watching the screen and working on my skills and confidence.
