"If you had to make one pip, what would you do?"

I think I would want to take a long trade where my stop would rest near the lowest high. . .

and I would want to see a bar close over the high of the previous bar. . .

and I would like it if said bar closed in the top half of its range. . .

and then I would place my stop first and enter within 1R from said stop;

if that is not possible, say price is moving quickly, then I would want my stop to be at the current highest low, and trade long with the momentum. . .

There are times when you follow the charts . . .

and there are times when you say, "you know what, I'm in the buy-zone, it's time to put on the party-hat and just buy"

Example:

many years ago, gold was $269/oz and hadn't been doing much for 30 years. . .
do you think that I cared what the chart was doing? I mean, I watched the chart, for giggles, but it didn't really matter what price was doing.

Conversely, let's say that you are on the longest TF that I would recommend anyone use, the biweekly chart. . .

and looking at this chart, as if it were a 1 or a 5 minute, you mark the percentage of the chart that you expect the Rat-zone to occupy and call it the "sell zone". . .

does it matter what the 1, 5, 15 minute, hours, and days are doing? not really. . .your mind is already set.
