The question is not when I enter but when I am wrong.

Price has been closing lower so this is a low probability long trade:

a) define when you are wrong
b) oversize your space
c) enter the trade

If you are not wrong then you are right and if you are right then you keep buying.

That is the way I remembered
What about 40% rule of LIS/LOS?

That babypips post was a response to someone who was shorting into an uptrend.
We would do such a thing when there is a high TF wickdoll or we are re-positioning to re-enter with our last lot size.

Defining when you are wrong (LIS) will always be important, but the 40% rule just doesn't apply when initiating a trade at min. size (what we currently do).

Why? Because the % rule was there so that you would have enough space to inflate when REDUCING your position size (shedding)...but now you start at min so there is nothing to reduce.

I wish every week was like this

Actual trade screen on TS2

Markup on trading view

Luckily I changed my trading plan this week (actually on this very trade!!) - I want to compress my space from the profit gained from the long - so I took half pending and half on expected PA - if i would have waited for expected PA I would have missed the short.

So going to add to my lots on the way down - still cant complain

The fib tool you see is how I adjust space - MO's new method is MUCH easier to learn and understand - but as I know my (bredins) method - I'm sticking with it

Temporarily flat now for 172 pips - bit of a shame I did not get the second lot of lots on out of my supply - but that's trading - and my fault for not just double clicking the sell - but as I am a bit of a tortoise...... :)

Anyway I shall compress space on the next one - also I find its easy to use an if/then line when I own a litttle space - when I start a sequence I just have to use a stop loss - or stop profit as bredin calls it :D

added a bigger chart for clarity

I'm not interested in squigglies - but the confluence is incredible!

EDIT - Sorry Mo - I should not derail this brilliant thread - I'll use my own next time

Took pretty much the exact same trades are you except on EURGBP.

Had to be quick on that spike.

OK - I have been told that was the worst markup I have ever done (thanks W and B :D )

It was just lazy using my working chart

I must say in the spirit of this thread that the 3 trades shown netted a bit over 9%

I used a bit less than half a percent to achieve this - if I had a plan and acted on the pa after that spike I would have finished with about 16% - not as good as some of the great traders here - but its sure makes me happy

Here's a proper markup in the different Time frames I use - marking up sort of help like a trading journal for me as well

Lots of elements seem to be coming together now - and a new aha moment this week to boot. (each aha, is no good by itself I find - its the cumulative malarky that helps

EDIT - that weekly line is not a dragon line btw (I used the wrong line template on Tradingview - but I aint changing it now!)

Nearly everything can be explained with triangles...
& after you see them you cannot help but see them.

There are many ways to solve a problem:

Here is the fork projection method:

In general, you want to start by finding the first angle and draw through a breakout; if there is no breakout then you probably drew it wrong.

After the first line the rest of the triangle comes together.
