Ok smart guy not everyone can be a millionaire like you. :D

Some people have to work their way up with baby steps.

My goal is 400 to 600 pips a month at $500 to $1000 a pip
although $120,000 a year is a decent stepping stone.

Flipping back and forth between micro and macro trading will get the job done fast.

Example:

you have $10,000 and increase your account to $15,000 using a 10 minute chart and trading in the direction of the longer term charts.

you then trade the long term chart directly risking most of your $5,000 gain using a $10,000 account value to size your trade.

If your $5,000 is a 250 pip stop (you don't have to risk all of it) and you make 280 pips then you are up another $5,600.

You would keep long balling until you take a hit:

$10,000 to $15,000 (trading small time frames)

Risk upwards of $5,000 (we start trading the long term chart only)

+$5600, + $2800, +$3600, -$3200 and you are left with $23,800 total.

$23,800 into $35,700 (again by trading small time frames)

Risk upwards of $11,900 (again we trade the long term chart only)

+$13300, +$6600, +8500, -$7600 and you are left with $56,500

Of course you have to be complacent to the possibility of losing weeks or months of profit...

It is worth it in my opinion

Is that your scalp, scalp, scalp, then trade the eternal method?

It is similar to an eternal strategy only with the eternal you would be risking 0.1% of your account for 200+ pips and you would only trade a small time frame with a stop of less than 10 pips.
With this strategy you are going for 40-120% per year.

The strategy I am talking about has you increase your account by x% and then put most of the profit at risk on large charts.

Play safe with your money

Gamble when in significant profit.

You could increase your account by 20% in less than 1 week and then risk upwards of 20% (100 pips) on the 4 hour chart.

While 15% risk is insane so is 20%+ profit per trade

Just remember that you are risking 2% until you are up by x% and then are risking most of x% to drown in profit.

I only deposit up to 30% of what I have to risk so my heart is never coming out of my chest on any trade.

This is what I seem to be doing on a daily basis, or a variation there of.

Once I get up a few pips, I'm risking them......Once I get up a few more pips, I'm risking them also.......Once I get up a few more pips, I'm adding an extra position when price moves against me 11 pips, keeping in mind that I risk no more than my daily profit, + what ever i started the day willing to risk.

Makes winning easy.

IT WOULD BE MUCH EASIER IF I WOULD LET THE FIRST FEW TRADES RUN FOR 15-25 PIPS, THEN I WOULD BE ABLE TO THROW DOWN THE GAUNTLET!!!!!!!!!

Haven't been able to get there yet. But it does feel much better to offer profits back to the market than previous days pips.

Maybe you could start with a baby step and pick one trade, the 1st, 2nd or 3rd, and before you enter it, simply set you entry, profit level, and SL. Enter them, and tie your hands behind your back, and watch or walk away. Your success will be following your trading plan for that trade. Use a mini account and small trade size, the smaller the better.

Let me know how it turns out.

All that you need to do is use a low risk strategy that has the dual-purpose of helping you hold for more pips.

After every win move up the scale and after every loss move down the scale.

The scalpers proving ground (10SL or less)

20% position size: target 6 pips
30% position size: target 9 pips
40% position size: target 12 pips
50% position size: target 15 pips
60% position size: target 18 pips
70% position size: target 15 pips
80% position size: target 12 pips
90% position size: target 9 pips
100% position size: target 6 pips

Account Size * 25 = Max Position size:

If you can trade 1 mini start with 2 micro
If you can trade 5 mini start with 10 micro
If you can trade 1 standard start with 2 mini
If you can trade 10 standard start with 20 mini

It would take a novice 3 to 5 times longer to blow up an account using this strategy.

I will now assign ranks to each level :wink to determine a trader's skill level:
40%: New arrival from BabyPips
60%: Novice
80%: Advanced
100%:Expert.

Focus on keeping your rank and you will be more selective with your trades.

If you have the money then you can also scalp longer term charts:

The Trader (50SL or less)

04% position size: target 30 pips
06% position size: target 45 pips
08% position size: target 60 pips
10% position size: target 75 pips
12% position size: target 90 pips
14% position size: target 75 pips
16% position size: target 60 pips
18% position size: target 45 pips
20% position size: target 30 pips

The Investor (100SL or less)

02% position size: target 60 pips
03% position size: target 90 pips
04% position size: target 120 pips
05% position size: target 150 pips
06% position size: target 180 pips
07% position size: target 150 pips
08% position size: target 120 pips
09% position size: target 90 pips
10% position size: target 60 pips

NY trade update:

-3041.0

Weekly total, we'll leave that for the Imagination.

I went short during news on G/U. I Stopped out at -10.9 as I "thought" it was gonna rocket up to catch stops so I reversed. Bad decision. Added to position when started to break down............added 23 more times on way to Daily bottom. I was within 40 pips of being able to close the whole thing at +200 on the first "major" re-trace. Then it sank again.

Went to bed and got up 4.5hrs later and it had moved 1 pip.
Showing -1345.xx

I set an OCO order for tp and SL.

Went and played with the wife for a bit and came back to see
Stop was hit 15 min. after setting it.

I started dancing around the house and singing....
How do you know if the risk is right hooooneeeey, How do you no if the risk is right baaabe??!!
We make a lot of money and we sleep at night (day for me)

I'm still in the game........well over 60% of account left!!!!!
YES!
And more than I deposited to re-start.
http://www.michaelcovel.com/2008/04/10/ ... psaw-song/

Now I've got to move to the next verse. LOL

What do we do when we show a loss Hooneeyyy,
What do we do when we show a loss baaabe???

Give that dag gum loss a toss!!

heheheheehehe!!!!!!!!!!Wooooooohoooooo.

Maybe I should watch this vid a few more times.

I'm pretty sure a lot of traders got burned by GU yesterday.
Not predictable at all.
