Just wanted to add my 2 cents on keto.
I started with the goal of doing keto for 6 months.
Im 5'8 and my start weight was 200 pounds and a slight gut.
80% fat, 15% protein, 5% carbs witch where all leafy greens.
In the beginning it was hard, headaches.. major cramps in my calves. (added magnesium tablets and cramps went away)
After about 1 month i started feeling alot better.
My gut shrank really fast and muscles fell a bit. Im guessing that was a ton of water weight.
My squat dropped to the floor. I was maxing under 200 pound squats... didnt like this at all
All other lifts stayed about the same.
In the 6 months i dropped from 200pounds to 172-5pounds and boy was i ripped lol but muscles did look very flat.
Funny part.. after 6 months i went back to carbs.. from 1 day to the other.. i blew up.. it was hilarious.
The pump was just crazy the first month.. felt like my biceps where gonna explode.
From 175 pounds to 183 in 1.5 months.. still ripped to shreds and muscles where swole and filled with water ;D
(today i am back at 200pounds and the gut is real
)
What did i learn from this:
Keto is an amazing tool. It cleaned me right up, skin was really smooth and clean. Going to the toilet was a dream!
Bone Broth veggie soup with bits of chicken swimming around is really, REALLY nice.
I believe both carb and fat diets work if you eat clean whole foods and lots of veggies. love my spinach shakes.
If you do keto DO IT! One slip up can cause major fall backs.
And a thanks to you PRO for keeping your thread active. I love reading your post and seeing what your up to
