dchappy wrote:A well known trader recently posted his stats on a tpostep combine attempt . I found it very interesting , In 17 days he placed 697 trades (whew) . commissions totaled $ 2746 , total contracts traded 1448 , wins 196 , losses 427 . Net profit was $ 3372 .So his average profit per trade was $2 and change ..If he traded a full 6 hr session he invested about 102 hrs ,thus making about $33 / hr. ....I'm not criticizing the man ...I once traded (over traded ?) like this , it is very exhausting emotionally . Some would call it " churning ". http://coiledmarkets.com/blog/2015/09/0 ... -factor-2/

I finally got to take a closer look at this post...was a bit of effort getting Google to tell me what a "tpostep combine" was

https://www.topsteptrader.com/

wow, these guys are looking for a 6% monthly gain to prove your worth
Well, maybe their restrictions on drawdown makes it more of a challenge, I haven't done the math on it.

In any case, kreslik.com has spoiled my expectations of what I can get from trading Forex, so I am eternally thankful for that.

The scary thing to me though (according to dchappy's math), is 697 trades with an average profit of $2-3 ... on a $50,000 account!!
How do you average $2-3 when you have $50K at your disposal?

Anyhow, I understand this is a veteran trader, just taking on a side project to prove a point.

Pro , have you thought about hedging your positions during a loss ? I think Tallinex allows it and they have no FIFO rules .

Its against my trading religion.
My bible says nothing about hedging.

Paraphrased
"Take a loss or take a profit; Never move SL to B/E" M.O.

I follow some rules. LOL
