If I feel the market is going to go higher I must calculate my SL and engage the market Immediately.

Where I enter is irrelevant.

As the market moves In my favor I must continually search for areas that I can trail my SL behind by increasing my lot size.

Being IN the market and increasing my lot size is ALL that matters.

Why is it ... I continue to enter buys on pairs that are clearly in downtrends.

Probably the same reason why people don't take profit at extreme prices.

Everyone knows that there is only one lowest low ... but it could be this one!

After one failure then entertain the possibility of a second & after the second
the possibility of a reversal of trend.
If you see one failure and then price closes over then it is usually best to trade
the continuation.

Remember:
a short term chart adds clarity to a long term chart, not the other way around;
consider the long term chart first and then add meaning with smaller periods

Here was the short "confirmation".

Im waiting for the 2nd failure to go lower and I will then move my SL up to just below the lows.

I guess there was a micro double failure (2 bar pattern) to go higher after the #3 shown on the chart. But I'll stick with full on swings.

Not that Im not willing to get in early or anything. LOL
