Me going from the highest paying job in the box plant to the lowest paying job and I still have to trade 4.5 days of my life every week for a few pennies.
And for what, to make other peoples trash? (OPT)

5. If you break your rules and your trades got closed, you must stop trading for 30 days for the first violation. Your second violation results in a 90 day suspension. Your third violation is a suspension of 180 days. Your fourth is a permanent retirement of your trading. Forever.

These rules are harsh. But consider this story.

In November of 2006, I got a phone call from a friend in India who was trading the GBP/USD. He was in a big trade. It broke all his position sizing rules and he asked me what he should do. I turned to Greg and Dave in my office and we talked about it, and we suggested that our friend in India close the trades NOW, or set a stop on the trades and then, if they lost, he would have to make it up later. I got sick and went to the hospital for the weekend.

On Monday, he wrote to me: I did not close the trades. I lost $5,000. There was more to his story. He had let his family down.

It was a lot of money for them. But he told me that his friend had lost over $100,000 in the same trades – his entire life savings, and he was found in his dining room on that Monday morning, attempting to saw off his hand. Yes, you read that right, and I am not making it up.
His family caught him trying to chop off his hand.

I am begging you – build protections around your worst habits. It’s embarrassing. It’s harsh. It restricts your freedom to “do whatever you want.” That’s ok. There is a lot of freedom in having rules. If you obey the rules, you get to have freedom in every other area of your life. If you break the rules, you restrict your freedom in every other area of your life.
