PT - Like where you are taking this thread...

I was just in the shower (irrelevant info) and I was thinking that we have been presented with a a problem, that the PnF tools out there are dated (to say the least), expensive (Ninja Trader CQG), and unreliable (MT4, Dukascopy)

So what are we to do...?

Why Go OPEN SOURCE!!!

I propose that we slowly but surely start building an online base of PnF forex charts for 4 pairs (10x2 to start) and slowly but surely build on them to make them a real tool for people following this thread...

There are sharepoint type projects like google wave out there that we can create spreadsheets with and if we keep to a standard formate (as proposed by PT above) then we will all know whats cutting in the PnF space, the beauty being that if we get 10 dedicated peeps check the data from time to time, adding when they have a chance, etc then we can do it...

I am prepared to share my excel sheet with anyone who wants it, anyone interested in this please PM me and we can start in roads into taking forex PnF towards open source avenues...

And how do you suggest we incorporate this information into a chart, Excel formula?

Okay, so I've tried it...and I must say it is strangely therapeutic watching the ticker and marking price as it does its merry ups and downs...

Image

Its been a good week for learning new stuff and I feel like I'm just becoming more honed into what the market is saying... There is almost no fear

So yes, for anyone who wants to partake in our little OS (Open Source), well not really but its in a similar spirit of thinking, "why should only I benefit from the work I am doing...?" project...

Please feel free to download this attempt at PnF for Excel and in the spirit of what I believe we can accomplish, please edit it and make it better, cause afterall this is coming from a appy, so its accuracy is highly questionable...
