One of the other hats I wear is that of Sports Coach at a University in the UK and I often despair at the sheer idiocy that comes out of their mouths, most of which is clearly a regurgitation of those who are supposedly there to offer them an unbiased view of the world and to help them to learn something worthwhile.
It is eye-searingly obvious when you are talking with a student who has actually been out in the wide world for a while, usually having to work to pay their own way through, as compared to those who still exist in that entitled, nobody-say-boo, la-la-land bubble that seems to surround those who have no true-life experience.
They seem incapable of forming an original thought, while holding in utter contempt those who dare to question their beliefs.
When one considers that these students are those who are supposedly the next movers-and-shakers and even perhaps leaders of the free world, it sends shivers down my spine.
