Hi Dragon,

Nice chart and trade. What indicator are you using to draw the zlines?

If possible can you post the indi, it draws the lines exactly where I would manually draw them.

Thanks.

I believe that's blubbb's ZLines indicator. He has his own indicator thread here:

dragon33: Nice trades. :)

spa: What do you based on to draw these zlines?

PTG: Your observations and conclusions are correct

cfabian: Looks like your first 2 trades got "zeroed" out. The 3rd one was better (in terms of reasoning). Good trade.

zap: indi attached. I modified blubbb's zline indi to plot at open/close on the pre-momo bar .

Too many zlines?

Postby frang0nve » Fri Jul 31, 2009 6:50 am

Hi Lisa,

I think your indicator draws too many zlines.

I post my own modification.

Cheers

Too many zlines? Can you please elaborate?

I note the zlines on your chart are plotted differently. What's your criteria of a zline?

This is my GBPUSD H1 chart with zlines at close/open. Don't think there are many lines there :)

Thanks.

Hi Lisa,

If i'm not wrong, in the indicator the MinFactor parameter (default value 2.0) allows to select how bigger a body candle has to be relative to the former one body.

So, if the default value is not changed, a zline will be drawn when a bar is twice the body spread of the former one.

I've highlighted in your chart some setups that I think are not complying with the above description.

Please let me know if I'm wrong.

Cheers

:) You are correct. My mod simply plot a line when the body spread of a bar is larger than the previous one. I do not include the minfactor in my calculation as I don't think it's relevant (at least for me).

Anyway, I have amended the mod including minFactor (see attached).

Liz,
I used the original zline calculation from Blubbb.
I just modified the x coordinate in the zlines, drawing them in the open of the momo candle.

Cheers
