It sounds like they are trying to move the money out of Forex and into the stock market.
I don't think that too many people will want to deposit $1,000 to trade $0.10/pip.
You could make more money playing poker with $1,000 than trading with 1.5 to 1 leverage.

I would most definitely quit Forex if my leverage dropped below 20 to 1.
I would most likely use the same methods I have shown you and trade nothing but 6 month option contracts in the Futures market.

As a long term approach, I doubt people would play for 10 cents a pip, but when you start out, it is good practice and is probably a much more reasonable line of thought than the idea that some idiot is going to drop 10K on a single position without having a clue as to what he is doing

They are just BSing you to get pass the rule

Brokers save all kinds of stats and you could probably call them up (or text chat) and ask them what the average leverage trader's use before liquidating their positions.

This is my reply to FINRA:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Only a person who is completely ignorant would max out on leverage and said person
should not be trading to begin with.

While I believe that the Forex market is just fine the way that it is and that you should
keep your dirty hands off of it I am willing to offer some suggestions:

A. 1.5 to 1 trade size and 30 to 1 max leverage; trader is limited to placing one trade the
size of 1.5 to 1 every 60 seconds. This would greatly reduce risk while at the same time
leaving the door open for the significant gains that draw people to the Forex market.

B. No less than 20 to 1 leverage!

C. Leave the Forex market alone; profitable traders are experienced in risk management
and unprofitable traders cannot be protected as the net result is a destroyed account.
