* Price either goes up or down.
* No one knows what will happen next.
* Keep losses small and let winners run.
* POSITION SIZE = RISK / STOP LOSS
* The reason you entered has no bearing on the outcome of your trade.
* You can control the size of your loss (skill) but you can't control the size of your win (luck).
* You need to know when to pick up your chips and cash them in.

If price goes against an open position (ie price either goes up or down), there will be a m5 closed against, followed by m15 closed against, m30, H1 and it can goes on. I know you have big accounts and you let a H4 or D1 closed against you :) afterwhich size matters. Otherwise, do options.

Given that NO ONE KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT! and when an m5 or m15 closed against - What is one's action?

Come to think about it then - one can trade any line, and NO FEAR. There are many watching with fear. It is the best time to trade volatility.

I guess that your idea is similar to this:

The function is to get an idea when a WICK (top or bottom) of a timeframe can be found. Maybe, the easiest is to look at average X number of bars when the wick is found.

Example : i noticed that one of the wick in H1 is usually found near 15-30th minute (ie 1/3-1/2 of the bar).

?Statistical MOMO for the Yales

1) Download historical bar into excel.
2) Row 1 : if body = 2x previous bar then 1 else 0.
3) Row 2-4 : if prev bar row 1 = 1, then plot close of current bar, next bar, next bar.

a) Get the sample distribution of the closes. Compare smaller timeframe vs higher timeframe.
b) Add in a higher time frame "filter" to see the difference, if any.
c) Can plot the wick to get the feel of the correction too, over free time.
d) How about doing a randomized double blinded controlled study? Just kidding.

This provides only the statistics.

If I do not do that then why would you do it?

2x prev. is just a rule of thumb, it is not what we are actually looking for.

1) For the Yale study.

2) I don't do it either. There is no need to do a study on HOW to cross a line. Your generous tools are very good already, and it has made me become lazy :)

3) It is a weekend.

4) Maybe to help the group to see the reality of trading. Probability.

No stress.

NB MO, i may have been mistaken when i put up my thoughts and questions in this thread. They were meant to help readers to get thinking, after 1700 great posts of yours. Ignore all my Qs. Maybe i should start a new thread next time. No worries.

I do need some blind mice (Yalies) to test the Blind Mouse Strategy that I put together.

1 spot is already taken and there can only be 3 blind mice 8)

2. You must be able to successfully execute Rat Trades.

3. You must be familiar with the Cash Zone.

4. You must play deaf when the 4th blind mouse begs you to teach him ;)

I am going to see if I can move 3 blind mice to $100,000 accounts via a basic idea (at which time they will no longer be blind mice and 3 more will be selected).

Sounds fun eh?

Damn, I can definitely play deaf. I haven't quite studied rat trades or cash zone though. But I will if I can be a part of it.
Failure is an opportunity to learn.

Simply answer the question in the above post.

Anyone can learn the Rat Trade and how the Cash Zone works in under 10 minutes.
