A stock doesn't have to be on the TOP 20 list to make money on it, especially if you are using the TRO BUYZONE!!
Remember, these are just GAP FILL STATISTICS. The GAP FILL is a very profitable trading strategy. Using the statistics just makes trading it a little more profitable.
Once you pick a method to trade, find the stocks that work best using that method and ONLY trade those stocks.
I think the reason 90% of traders lose is because they don't find what stocks work best STATISCALLY with their trading method.
The traders in my www.paltalk.com chatroom the TWO PERCENT CLUB hear me say the same thing day after day. I focus on AAPL and the 4 major currency pairs and that is ALL I focus on. Everyday, there are profitable trades using the TRO BUYZONE. And those traders are profitable because they are just waiting for the BUY ZONE opportunity to appear.
Yes, it's boring sometimes, but trading IS boring. Gambling is exciting!

Avery, from staring at the price on AAPL and a few others all day. I know you are right.
For making money on the gaps, it seems the volatility of the individual instruments is what makes the difference. AAPL surely has that.
GOOG did not fill the gap today and a trader would have done poorly going short. I learned also, not to even attempt trading in the opposite direction of an upgrade or downgrade. GOOG was upgraded today, and the gap said go short.
Of course if you just stay in the buy zone, you will trading in the proper direction anyway.
I wish that I was able to program like you. If I could, I would find the statistics for stocks that have the very best record of moving .15 to .20 cents towards filling the gap. This would enable the quick .12 to .15 cent scalp. I do not care about the entire gap being filled, just .15 to .20 cents is all I need.
I have been watching SEPR, and I still prefer AAPL for the "partial gap fill" much better.

I have done the programming, already!!
If you have TradeStation, just use my statistics indicator.
Or you can use the Gap Statistics filter I posted on www.stockfetcher.com.
The best stocks to trade using the buy zone are my top 20 cows.
You don't need to reinvent the wheel to make money.
