Some screensots with levels and rectangles. About the levels, I can say that there can be a lot of levels and they mainly distinguish the price reversal points. Levels can be allocated to consolidation and paranormal bars. Rectangles I highlighted the places where the price consolidated and went to the reversal. Enjoy the educational material from the most experienced trader.

Do you see that grid on your chart? price will go up through the boxes or down through the boxes & I will risk a number of boxes to make a number of boxes;

I know what I am going to do if price goes up,
I know what I am going to do if price goes down,
I separate the lines according to changes in volatility,
& I stay within my daily risk limits.

The market is a 'rotation-machine', if you've ever seen a Point & Figure chart, so what I want to do is guesstimate how long a down-rotation is going to be and then start taking longs at a horizontal line.

As an old trading guru once said, "men only put indicators on their charts to impress women".

Hi, I am learning about P&F charts. What would you suggest as the box and reversal amount in Forex? Thank You.

'm not an expert on this topic. I use TRO methods. And on the chart I have either Japanese candlesticks or bars. Sometimes I use a strategy of trading on levels and highlight the flat. I like to trade in consolidations. I also trade exits from consolidations. Sometimes I work with the market profile indicator just to work with the recognition of consolidations. I can only say one thing about using P&F charts. If trading on them is able to bring you money, then you can use this method.

That depends on how you are using them:

If you are trading them then it is based on the volatility that you are seeing on your minute charts: the boxes should be 2 or 3 pips most of the time and sometimes 4.

If your P&F is based on closing prices then use a 2 box reversal, else if it is using the HL method then use a 3 box.

If you are hunting rotation numbers then you increase the box sizes until you get single digit columns, see 3's & 4's, & also repeating numbers.

Again, always start with a grid on your minute charts before setting your P&F boxes:
- if you think that you can get away with risking 1 box 2 out of 2 trades then your boxes are probably too wide.
- if you think that you always have to risk 3 boxes then your box size is probably too narrow.
