Time to check how our short-list did today.

Coming up to bat, we'll see them in the same order I posted on Friday, just to keep it simple.

This is doin' a star turn, solid drop. We are beginning to see a twist in the Lightning Kumo however, so it'll be interesting to see if we get a pull back tomorrow.

Classic entry off a double-doji.

Nothing too exciting here but it's not going backwards, so that's something.

Nothin' fancy here either but this has room to drop against that big momo candle on the left.

Then back to earth here, where price is still well and truly stuck in the mud.
CADJPYaustdDailystillstuckinthemud29thjuly19.png

So, overall, pretty good, with potential to go bigger and little sign of any downside so far.

My Brother from another mother, What are you setting on the daily ichi? Same as 4hr?

If we are not stuck in the mud, it would mean a touch and bounce off 30 ema with some sort PA move aka Price turn ie. double doji with wicks supporting our direction?

Hellooooooooooo!!! Good to have ya' back, bro!

As you're not the first to ask, it is worthwhile listing the settings.

This is the Thunder & Lightning method as far as the two clouds go - however it is my own variant. The original Japanese method uses Heiken Ashi candles and no ma.

I do use the original but in the background, so as not to clutter things up too much for now. All things will come (at some point :P ).

Anyway, settings:

Thunder Kumo:
7, 21, 48 and 21.

Lightning Kumo:
7, 12, 15 and 6.

No Tenkan, Kijun or Chikou.

MA:
20 ema, close, 0 shift. (Note, NOT a 30).

I am using a mutant Akira-strength variant combining Thunder & Lightning with Bob Volman's classic techniques, so yes, one of my classic entry signals is the double-doji. I also look for mini-congestion, supply/demand clear-outs and pins.

If there is a Z-Line and/or 50-Level in the vicinity, then we are golden.

So, as I said, a mixed bag.

Obviously if we were running this, there are multiple ways that we could be covering these bounces against us. For now, I don't want to get into ifs-buts-and-maybes, as it is much easier to do so if it's actually happening in front of you but not so easily illustrated after the fact.

Blue: Here but not really here, if you catch my flow. Beside what would I do without you maniac[s].

@Bob Volman (no not really) - his book, worth a read? Double-doji idea picked up from 'good ol Bob'? Any other tidbits from Bob's work that turn you on?

I know knowledge isn't free, so Lem can you please point me to your weblink so I can subscribe to see all of your kreslik updates. How much was it again $99 a month. Nice, GReat, Deal(!).

I have been talking to one of our new members about RATs over the last few days and I have him to thank for giving me something to do while in twiddling-my-thumbs mode today.

Nothing spectacular or anything but just before the US Open, I picked up a handy +10 on the US30 off the back of a triple-dipped short RAT.

Ignore the Lightning Cloud, I just happened to use that chart.

US30 RAT +3 +3 +6 [+10]

Hi folks.

Time to check on those HTF trades before I forget about them completely :P

GBPCAD

Turned tail after that great three-bar drop. The signs were all there and you'd have to think that a good chunk of cash would have been bagged along the way before we got to today.

Now? Re-Entry?

GBPAUD

That pin was all the signs you'd have needed to pick up your skirts and run for the hills. What's going on after that is anyone's guess.

EURJPY

This one pulled itself out of the mud and ran off to the circus to become a star.

EURCHF

Talking of being a star - the EChf is riding a strong wave now.

EURNZD

EN decided to head off to the stars on the back of a Red News powered rocket.

GBPNZD

Driven by the same engine as EN, we at least got the original drop, then there was enough time to recognise the pullback and bag. On top of that, there was an opportunity to get back in before we end up where we are today.

CADJPY

As for the final horse in the race, if you had stuck with your short bias, well - that would have worked out for ya'!

I really hadn't appreciated how much I had lost my taste for the High Time Frame game over the years. It is a real effort to go check the charts, which is bizarre, as obviously you'd think that it would be easy to find the time once a day or whatever.

I just don't think it's as simple as that. It's more a psychological thing. Is it possible to be wired to scalp and run HTF trades at the same time? I really don't know any more.

Would I suddenly find I had all the time in the world to check them if I suddenly woke up to find I had forgotten how to ride The Monster down at the razor's edge?

Do I sometimes think too much?

I think I'm just an adrenaline junkie. All my sporting activities over the years - placekicking, sport-climbing, driving fast cars - all involve cultivating the ability to subvert the effects of adrenaline, to remain calm and detached, while using the benefits - sharpness, heightened reactions - to maximise performance.

Hey ho...it is what it is.

Pavel! You out there? You have that same trading DNA. Thoughts?

The first 'hyphenated' sport i can think of is caber-tossing, lol
Which is also a part of Scottish culture, I think??
