Not all the time. With The Dead Zone / Buy Zone type of play, I am going for a fixed target, so easy to use the 1% pp but with the scalping on the 1-min / tick charts, I'm not doing that, it's fluid. I have a roughly calculated Dead-Man's Stop and that is my % or $ risk and then I have a cash-amount set pp.

I do go in very heavy and often it can work out at a similar level to the 1% pp but not always.

You trade 1% equals 1 pip?
That's balls right there.
The closest I ever got to the fire was 5 pips = 1%
I think the best I can do now would be 2.5 to 7 pips = 1% because of reduced leverage.

Yeah, when I was aiming for a fixed target of +5.

Today.

Again, basically on holiday and I was also away from home. Pity, as The DAX would have been a barn burner this morning. Oh well.

I lived in Detroit and Chicago for many years - I'm an honorary citizen :D

I'd have wanted independence from us as well, lol.

Just for the record - I never for one second thought that anything was going to happen here today - but anyway, this is how that UJ move is sitting.

Still on (enforced) hols today and for the rest of this week but managed to slink sideways into some end of day action to at least keep my eye in.

Then for some reason unknown to anyone, least of all me, I took this one and had it running in the background while The DAX did its thing...

I just closed the thing out for the profit that was on the screen at the time, however maybe I did see something in it after all and hey, maybe I did get the call right and it's just my boredom threshold I need to work on :D

So for the day:

Not much to complain about there.

Hi Lem.

I've finally made it over here and have brought my beginner's mind and open eyes. Unfortunately the cat is yet to arrive.

I'll be slowly going through the thread as that is my modus operandi for learning anything.

Cheers
Anthony

Hi there!

Welcome to your new Galaxy of Opportunity! Good to see you here and I hope you enjoy it enough that you will stay.

The amount of knowledge on offer here on Kreslik as a whole is staggering and can be a little overwhelming at first but once your brain settles down, you'll find your path, be it along with my methods or anyone else's.

Any questions - as always, ask away.

I will wait patiently for the cat :D
