Yep. It's either the 7 or 8 mark (usually). I am a lazy s*** and just let the indicator decide as it comes out the box.

I am sure I should be doing some calculation or other to optimise that but hey, as I said...lazy s*** :P

Good morning Lem and Happy Eastern !

We are awaiting another bright and sunny day with 20+ degrees celsius :D

BZ BuyZone ... Okay another sweet candy in your brimming treasure chest.

I tried to find a thread or something about the BZ but both words are too short ... would you, could you explain about it or point me in the right direction (thread) please?

Or is it really that simple ... Always trade away from the Weekly Open ... if price is above the daily open buy at +8/+10 and vice versa?

Hope you get some sun too!

"The sun has got his hat on,
Hip-hip-hip hooray,
The sun has got his hat on
and he's coming out today".

I always thought that last line was ..." coming out to PLAY".
Ha, you learn something new every day.

Yeah, been up far, far, too late last night and feel like I am still not quite in the world, lol.

There will be no trading from this particular monkey today, my friends.

BZ...I can certainly fill you in on what I know about the method. I have talked with others and read some stuff in the past and I should say that I think I run it in as as simple a way possible.

Basically, you got it right:
Always trade away from Weekly Open...
Enter at +7 or +8 from there.
That's it.

Nominally the target is +2 (as shown by the indi) and if I am set-and-forgetting, then that's what I do (across all the pairs available and showing set ups, all those +2 bags mount up).

If I am nursing the entries, then I will look to lock in that +2 and then let the trade run and manage it in the usual ways.

Also, as mentioned somewhere, I am sure I should be adjusting those entry levels according to some ADR parameter or something but I never did. I just take the thing out the box, stick it on the charts and let it do it's thaaaang.

My twist to it is my use of S+D Zones to give me some kind of additional bias information.

Aaaaaaand...as I have added the thing to a few different brokers in a few different time zones, I make no attempt to adjust them all to start on the same candle (ie to match UK time) I simply let it set itself up to run off that particular broker's Midnight candle.

I do usually use the UK 00:00 start but not always.

Doesn't seem to make one bit of difference.

As for threads, try searching for "Buy Zone for Dummies" I think. That rings a bell. Honestly, I just picked up the indicator and stuck it on a chart :)

Enjoy that sun!!!

(Hope this isn't our summer. AOC says the world is going to end in, like, 12 years, so we don't have many left).

So? You got some sun too? We had a wonderful day, turned out to get as high as 24 Celsius but as forcasted around 5pm dark clouds arrived and for tomorrow they say it will rain all day long. Not bad, so I can have much screentime!

I found the thread you mentioned ... but its more about a special Indi ... couldn´t find the basic one on your chart, maybe you can help?

Found some talking about the BZ in other threads here, but as usual your interpretation is most helpful because on the spot and simple.

I had no clue that the +8/+10 is not something like an entry zone BUT the entry and the exit ... so 2 quick pips and all good ... lol .. I know it´s not that easy but with your SD bias who knows :D

One question: I would think that on most pairs the trigger will be in the first few hours, do you take every trade during the day as long as it moves away from the weekly open?

Have a good one!

Anyhoooooo...

Slowly getting myself back on track as re the thread core direction. Long TF moves: How to get them and how to max them out - all by using the same basic methods that you would scalp by.

So, in the spirit of the thing, I tripped over this Wall St 30 play today (well last night actually but seeing a possible set up and it triggering, are not always the same thing, as we all know). Went in at 15:12:35 UK time. Long.

It's a Thunder + Lightning entry and in this case, an aggressive one, as although price was above the two clouds, the HA candle was still red.

However, there had just been a lightning strike - a long, thin, string in the cloud - and this is a good nod toward a solid move coming.

Here's the entry...

Wall St 30 H4 Long @ 26493.5

So, looking ok so far. However, we are still in the thrall of a holiday weekend and we have the Japanese markets doing their churn around the Golden Week, which has the added nuance of the small thing that is the accession of the new emperor, Crown Prince Naruhito thrown into what has the potential to become a very chaotic part of the trading world.

I will be letting this thing run but at the same time, be on my guard for weirdness of the extreme kind.

One thing to note, is that in ''normal'' circumstances - ie my being at the actual screens through the day and not off out enjoying the sun (it's a big orange thing in the sky...honest, we are seeing it) - I would have already maxed into this trade.

As you can see, price has been higher already, before showing a pullback. This would have been an opportunity to counter trade into that drop and add dosh to the pot, covering the original trade's reducing profit level.

(Having said that, looking at it, the actual moves to get in on were all overnight and I do - contrary to belief, actually sleep occasionally - but you get the point).

Anyway, whatever the reason, not this time. I wasn't here to wrangle it. Such is life.

Ok, folks. Back with a new week of Buy Zone juiciness.

Not traded by me, so just fyi and there are more than a couple of pairs I left out as they were highly correlated.

As I have mentioned previously, Mondays are obviously a little compromised in that pretty much any move is going to be trading away from the Weekly Open. However, they can be traded, especially as in my case, I am still looking to add my bias on top.

Anyway, here ya' go (in no particular order).

Done and dusted. There are obviously pairs here that the spread would kill you on, irrespective of it being a holiday or not but what correlated pairs can do is give you a handful of options on the same move and you can then take the one with the best spread, or bang-for-your-buck, or whatever.
