I like and use the 30 ma because I also use it with a 90-tick chart scalp method. It is always a good servant on any method that uses pullbacks for entries.
Having the Kijun and Chikou spans on there as well, simply over-eggs the pudding for me.[/quote]
Too many lines, surely, at least for most, with the CS and KS.

I love The DAX for this down at the sharp end. Once the morning insanity is done and you can take a breath, it will more often than not settle into a game of ping-pong and I will form a scalping ground between micro S+D Zones.
There is no reason why the same thing can't be done on the higher time frames.

Re: Lem's Big Box O' Stuff.
Post Superbowl recovery day today, so no screens for me. Till now.
Having a quick scan through and it looks like we are getting a move into a set up on AU.
AU H4
So, we now need to see the Lower MACD get down below our mid-line. We should the be looking for the Upper MACD to flip to the Long side, then back into Short mode.
We have the cloud to clear obviously (or at least preferably) and our ema + pa to come into play but for now, that's still in the future.
With a bit of luck this will track our way and also hopefully give us a look at a selection of the possible entry opportunities so we can get a bit of a live class going on.
We'll see.

I should say, that this could just as easily move back into a Long set-up. We just need to wait and see how the cards fall.

Re: Lem's Big Box O' Stuff.
How's that for a mega rejection candle entry?!
Crude H4
You can also see an earlier entry on the back of strong momo. How much of that nice entry you held onto would depend on how you managed that trade, as obviously by the time you got the second entry, all that swag would have gone back to the market.

Good morning Lem!
Refer your Crude chart and the earlier entry ... where would you have placed that buy?
SL would be the recent low?
Is your lower MACD still on 26-12-9, because my histogram looks different?

Oh well. It must have known we were watching it, as the potential AU set up has been busted by an overnight move North.
Having said that, it now means we switch our attention to a potential Long.
Needs the retrace first.
One to keep one eye on while we re-scan for another opportunity.

'Morning!
It depends on how aggressive a mood I am in. I have been known to go in as the histogram's have just been about to change, so you would have got in before the big momo candle off of the ema. That is more of a scalping-chart move though.
After that, there are various points of entry. For instance, you could wait for the first 50% retrace, though in this case that doesn't come till a good bit later - doubling up as the major rejection.
This also brings up a secondary point, in that if this follows the style often seen on the scalping charts, the first move will reverse back and the second entry is actually the sustained one. Nothing to say you can't / shouldn't go in early, just that I'd be prepared to take what I can and get out, then potentially get in again.
Stops can be set in all number of ways, again depending on your level of aggression. Fibs, Z-Lines, S+D, H/L are all valid and just depend on your surroundings at the time of entry. For me, I must admit I find stops difficult to judge if I have a very large range candle in the mix. If I had managed to get in on that early entry, I'd likely use a fib retracement kind of stop.
Oh and I just checked - the histogram is the same settings, 26, 12. 9, (0).
