Lem,

So if your chart says DAX T-60, that's a 60 tick chart or 60 sec chart?

Thanks I kinda figured. I really haven't used tick charts but I do see value in them, especially on futures.

The charts I use at the sharp end will be:

Tick: 25, 60, 90 (going higher: 200, 300)

Min: 1, 2, 5, 10 (and then the usual from there)

I dropped the tick 60 on the FDAX and it cleaned up the action. I may trade it in the mornings before the US session. I put the tick 60 on the ES but that was rough so I got it up to 1000 to look cleaner. I think the DAX volume is 1/10th the size of ES so 600 could work.

This is why I still research ideas so I can see if there are better ways to improve on my methodology.

Oh for sure, one size most definitely does NOT fit all.

Me too, curious about T-60 charts vs 1min. Are there any simple solutions to get tick data onto mt4? I researched a little while ago, couldn't really find a worthwhile solution.

I Don't believe tick data is real in forex.

I don't think you're going to find a way to incorporate true (or even any) tick data in mt4.

In fact most of the so-called tick data you will be seeing will be synthetic.

However in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter, as what is it we do here?

Trade What We See.

I don't care if the price information I'm seeing is being carved out on a stone tablet by a team of trained monkeys.

Show me a trigger and I'm in.

What you should actually be looking for is the fastest execution times between pulling that trigger and being filled - and even more importantly, the fastest execution of you hitting the close button and bagging your plunder.
