All I had on today was my morning DAX and the 500-Flip, as I was out-in-the-outsides-place all day.

I had a pure luck escape with The DAX, as I pulled the trigger on one trade while looking at another chart (don't ask, lol...I'd had a late night :P ) and still got the profit.

However, didn't need any luck with the 500, as it went smooth as silk, no drama at all.

500-Flip (18:00 flips 17:00) Done WZ move North into body.

No trade on The Flip today.

I had a Supply Zone sitting on top of the m30 candle and price had already broken above the high of the last DWZ and as such, I wasn't interested in going long.

I have hung around for a while now - 54 mins to be exact - and we have a slight break long but absolutely no sign of any interest in going short. I'm not going to baby-sit it all night.

It may go on to do something later, in fact no doubt it will. However, it'll do so without me this time.

An interesting landscape around the 500 today. Price had been high all day, in and above the Daily Wick Zone. I also had a Supply Zone up there but it took half the day for price to get to it. There was one, brief, dip into the DWZ candle body and then up it went again.

After all was said and done, I was looking to short the play and the 17:00 candle closed long, so that played into the whole thing.

At the KO, I got in short, then almost immediately went negative. As the Supply Zone was around the same level as the candle high, I had enough room above to let it breathe.

As such, once price moved up into that region, I added in another short. This would help cover the original trade in the event it didn't go the distance.

In the end (it still takes me a while to get used to the slower speed price moves outside of my DAX trades, lol) I got the turn I wanted and both trades well into profit.

All good.

500-Flip (18:00 flips 17:00) Done trade #1 as WZ move short into body c/w trade #2 added in as short on retrace from Supply Zone.

As I am having to crop idiotically tight whenever I ink any chart for some reason, I have added the one below to give an overview of the thing. Time has moved on slightly as you can see but it should help make things a bit clearer.

I'm re-posting this from earlier, as for some unknown reason - well, unknown to me anyway, lol - the post has vanished.

Anyway, if I remember rightly, this is what I said at the time of the lead-in to today's Flip set-up:

No trade on The Flip today.

There is absolutely no sign of any inclination for the turn. No S+D, DWZ, Pivots, whatever.

There is a pretty solid-looking Demand Zone farther down and if price reaches there, I may play that.

It is, of course, entirely possible that the Flip may still do its thing but if it does, it'll do so without me.

So, after all of that, price did indeed push on down.

It didn't quite reach the major Demand Zone (on the H1) but dropping down brought what I call the ''shadow'' zones, the Zones that slow down the push before it hits the main one.

I faded the entry down there as price slowed and turned.

As it turns out, looking at it now, The Flip did indeed...well...Flip.

For the record, there were two other ways this could have been been played.

In the first, I would have ignored the long head-fake and taken the break of the low. As noted before, if the fake happens, it usually means there will be a good-sized continuation. I didn't do this because of that Demand Zone below. It wasn't really close but it was close enough to warrant attention.

The other option would have seen me take the initial long trigger. That was a head-fake and a bust, so as it dropped down and into the low break, I would have triggered a counter-trade. That would have locked in a ''floating'' loss. I would then have waited for my next major trigger to begin unwinding the hedge.

That next trigger would have been the play I actually ran - the bounce off the Demand Zone. So once that kicked in, I would have closed out the counter trade (the short) in profit and now have my faded longs immediately in profit (or as near as dammit) and the earlier one a loss reducing steadily in size.

That is then played out as far as I want it to go. Either until it gets ''enough'' profit overall, or until all three longs go green. Today, you could have managed that.

As an aside, that last option is exactly how I traded my morning DAX trade today...exactly.

Out all day but back in time to catch the Flip...and what a flipper of a flip it was!

Couldn't have asked for a clearer set-up with the lovely Demand Zone right there.

500-Flip (18:00 Flips 17:00) Done WZ North

Back on the horse and this was just perfect in the way it set up. I could not have drawn it up better...

Entry Long out of the Demand Zone ( with Lower DWZ adding weight).

The entry came as a combination of S+D with a DWZ overlay.

The initial S+D came on the H1...

The detail on the entry comes down on the m5, where you can see the dotted line showing the H1 Demand Zone. The areas for add-ins are also clear down here...

The m15 gives some nice, solid backing to the decision...

Then finally, that DWZ entry, which once again, coincides perfectly with the Demand Zone.

Didn't take any of the shorts, as that turning point wasn't even at halfway up the DWZ candle body. Instead, I waited on the return bounces long.

Worked just fine...
