i mean they help
but stats are not there to play stats
they are there to help you look differently at stuff
and maybe see things more objectively
ultimately you want the market to teach you how to trade
you know the drill

Btw I think that you’re right, it’s ok to have small losses but I have no edge if I have small wins too.. if I’m understanding right your words.

Thank you Pawel!

you already see the stuff that most dont
even when you lose a trade you can see what went wrong ---- thats huge
you say that you stay around breakeven ---- thats better then 90% of the traders
i think you are really close
also the fact that you were about to quit means that you are one fkn step away

there is no one thing i can say that will set you up
even sitting live with someone doesnt do the trick
i tried to teach multiple friends ---- doesnt work
you need to be stupid enough to sit for 10 years and watch the paint dry

it doesnt even work with people who already are profitable
i remember trading with the guy who was killing calendar spreads on interest rates (euribor, short sterling and swiss)
he showed me exactly what he does
i sat down and sucked arse for 5 hours
then he sat down clicked for an hour and 1000 pounds just appeared
very methodical ---- never really risking money
calendar spreads on interest rates are barely moving

Awesome Pawel. Thanks for sharing.

Blue: Dude I thought I was the only one that felt this way, and mentioned this in the past in my thread. Its amazing when someone literally lays everything out for you and feeds you like an infant, and still you fail to become successful. Its like we are destined to make what we make, and from the looks of it only the extremely patient are generally rewarded. Its predetermined. Anyways not here to get metaphysical, but it makes a man wonder.

yes
its certainly more art than the science
even tho it seems like there is no "skill" component
you just press the buttons
everyone can press the damn buttons
but then again the props trading firms would just end the markets in a day

i like to think about trading like its playing tenis
80% of tenis players dont get paid
and you cant get better by talking about it
the "talking" and "strategizing" is also important
but only practise is what takes you to another level

It’s obvious that I’m not an expert but

sometimes I feel strange at the idea that trading firms are doing this.
Ok not this exactly, maybe, but still not an exact science.. and they are managing *censored - swear word* uber tons of money and I say whaaat??
I’m wondering if they’re reducing risks somehow or if HFT softwares are doing all the job nowadays.. I don’t know

but imagine if at Barclays they were trading RAT entries lol

Friday's (US session) pays sometimes, maybe those are just swing traders closing their positions before the weekend, i don't know..
and maybe i could have watched ATR to hold on on GU instead of GJ.

Finally a good day btw

HFT is farily professional
but from my experience in a regular trading firm 90% of the traders have no idea what they are doing
