How NOT To Trade

Postby PebbleTrader » Wed Feb 06, 2013 8:23 pm

ICT Trades

I've never followed any of ICT's "teachings" because it didn't agree with what I already am doing.

Study his recent trades, they make no sense to me...

And too much leverage for a 5K account, if that's what he is truly basing it off of, based on the 5K to 1 million challenge.

A good trader would never let their % equity curve drop like that...

I think ICT would have been better off not doing this challenge and continuing to fool thousands of traders trying to learn.

Check out his trading pattern....

Previous 7 trades = 5 wins and 2 losses

Then a deposit of $3000 on 4th feb...

Then next 7 trades = 2 wins and 5 losses

Someone tell him about SPACE :)

The trading pattern leads me to believe he's trading with "scared money"....who knows.....

Yeah, could be a lot of things going on...

If you invert his equity curve, than it looks better :)

Small loss, small loss, small loss, big win...

I'm not trying to bash the guy, but it's more of a "warning" for others that are following him.

I only looked at his recent trades and they were really bad trades IMO.

In all fairness, it's still too early to jump to any conclusions but from what I have seen so far, I don't think he is as good of a trader as he and others think...

If he was such an experienced trader than his discipline would be rock solid and he is breaking his own rules that he set.

He is down more than that now :(

I know that he knows technical analysis...
I just question his money management.

"I know that he knows technical analysis... "

I'm sure he knows a lot about trading, I've read some of his posts in the past and I could sense that.

It's like someone wanting to learn how to run a business and going to school at a good business college. Those professors are mainly there because they couldn't make it in the real world, so they were left with the option of teaching concepts out of a book.

When that student graduates from the business college, they have a lot of business knowledge and concepts but lack the real world experience to put it to use.

I think ICT just doesn't have the actual live trading experience that he says he has (I thought I saw 15 years somewhere!) and everyone inflated his ego up at babypips and he probably started to believe he was better than he was.

Just my opinion. Looking at his recent trades, NO PROFESSIONAL TRADER WOULD TRADE LIKE THAT! Period.

"apparently he's doing it to teach a lesson??"

Those people who believe that have time and $$$ invested in his teachings and just don't want to believe their teacher is a fake.

When I looked at his recent trades they were classic newbie entries where he bought when you should have been waiting or selling or vice versa, his stop was too large, over trading and over leveraged...
