Good things come to those who wait :D

I missed it, as I was tied up elsewhere.

Saw this developing and became so engrossed in not missing it that I completely forgot about the 500-Flip tonight! Ah well...

Not the tightest spread in the world but a nice wee snip to end the day on.

Hi guys :D

Could this be the case here? The trade was based off this --> viewtopic.php?p=115549#p115549 <-- but on H4 it looked like a 123 entry.

However i was wondering how much bar 2 needs to 'retrace' inside bar 1 before reversing and breaking the open line :?:
Can you help me with this? Or is it based on some lower time frame idea?

Thanks!

Yes, that's a 1-2-3 entry. The bar following the new high hasn't made a newer high and you enter as price drops back over the open level.

Pippy and I spent some time running numbers on whether there was an optimum shape to the second bar. A longer move towards the High, a shorter move etc.

The short answer is, no. We found no advantage of one over the other.

EDIT: I just noticed you have run this off of an H4 chart and yes, that works fine but the standard method is run on the H1.

I have posted elsewhere (How To Be A MOnster) about how you can run a HOLO variant using H4 levels over a Weekly time frame and Daily Levels over a Weekly time frame and the same holds true of the 1-2-3 set up.

One other thing about the above, is that you could also have run an H4 Wick Zone entry, albeit the body of the set-up candle (the one that sets the new High) is very small.

It's probably also dropping out The RAT Zone too.

Hi Brett. Nice one - but if I'm looking at the same thing, your HOLO was just fine, there was no breakout bar. The H1 off to the left is the Low of the Day.

Here are my charts of the same move...
