So does Wally World.
It's time to kick ass and chew bubble gum. And I'm all out of gum.

But I don't know what it will take to convince my friends and family. I almost feel hopeless in that regard. I am trying to take them through baby steps and helping them see the eventual conclusion. But it has not yet worked.

Frustrations on top of frustration, I know.
I can't get my best friends to watch even "Money as Debt"; and it's a frikkin cartoon!
Sh!t, I can't even get my bank teller to watch "Money as Debt", 'Money comes from the US Mint,' is the most I can get from him. (Ok, in honesty, he tried to watch, but fell asleep, and didn't feel it was worth picking up again.)
I try giving the forewarning that you might not understand it all on the first go, but that one should keep at it, but to no avail. <sigh>

As silver is now $33/oz and went up 14% in 16 days, that plus this Washington shut down thing, I think I'll try again on my friends...

There's no way in hell, I could get them to watch "The Money Masters", **I could barely** get through it and I'm either reading or talking with you guys about this kind of thing like everyday!!!

I'll try to get them to take Chris Martenson's Crash Course maybe.

::EDIT::
bredin has the videos all nicely lined up already, that's cool!!

Money Masters is tough to get through only because there is so much information packed in 3.5 hours. But so far i find this the most comprehensive one yet and really puts everything into perspective. It is so sad that the world is really like this.
Failure is an opportunity to learn.

The fact is that most people do not believe that they need to invest any time into their own freedom because they believe that this was guaranteed to them in 1945 with the defeat of Hitler.
They are told things like "Freedom isnt Free, but luckily for you the Marines will pay your share" and forget that "The Price of Freedom is Eternal Vigilance"

This is compounded my an almost complete lack of basic mathematical skills, a culture of "Thanks Christ schools over, now I never have to read again", "My welfare is someone elses problem" and an almighty entitlement mentality.

I am a strong believer in personal freedom, which comes with a string belief in personal consequence.... If someone wont take a few hours out to watch something like "Money Masters" or even a few minutes for "Debt as Money", then my only response is "I love ya, I hope youre right and good luck." All I can do for them is expose them to the information they need.

G. (and yes, Money Masters was a tough watch for me too, but seriously.... suck it up princess, have a cup of concrete and harden the *censored - swear word* up)

I've watched both money masters and debt as money. I agree with you guys I simply just had a hard time convincing others to watch it. Many of them are living with an unknown fear in their life, controlling them like the matrix...

Yeah bredz, I'm gonna have to copy those first two paragraphs and pass it along.

I'd have to add, I think people really do expect that if anything really needed a serious heads up, they believe that 'of course' the news would discussing it, front & center & in-depth. But noooo, the Oscar and Emmy's get a friggin PRE-SHOW so we can see the venue getting set up and know ahead of time what celebrities will be wearing; and the news never misses a beat every time Lindsay Lohan has to go to court...

I know that I used to assume that watching the news was enough and whatever topics they brought up was all that needed to be worried about...certainly glad I was able to overcome my own skepticism.

Well I guess it could be rap, (a lot more intelligent than;"move biatch get out the way...!")... but it sounds better as rock ;-)
