TRO2009_OpenDiff

TheRumpledOne wrote:Set the myPeriod input to 60 if you want it to show the H1 chart.

I tried that, and it does not seem to help. I am attaching 3 charts in which I set myPeriod to 60. I then changed period from H1 to H4 and D1. This was done at about 15:40 EST, and picture snapshots were taken immediately. Notice the differences to the Open as the chart periods change. Notice also the differences to the Weekly and Monthly Open. They do not change as you change chart periods.

So there might be an error in this indicator, insofar that the difference to the open is not consistent as time frames change.

BTW, the result is no different than just leaving myPeriod at 0.

The opens indicator needs to be used in H1 or less because it needs bars with the start times that you enter. Though I may be able to figure out a way around that... not sure.

Which Indicator?

Postby chuchu » Mon Feb 08, 2010 5:46 pm

On a somewhat similar topic, is there an existing indicator, which can tell us, at a glance, which pairs have have D1 and W1 aligning in the same direction?

For example, if I am a green rat, and I turn on my platform in the morning, is their a way to identify the pairs I will trade today based on the D1 and W1 alignment? I know the TRO Rat Zone will give biases for one pair, but is there another indicator that can do it across all pairs?

Thanks.

Here is a picture with that indicator.

Could you please explain the headings and the stats shown for this indicator mean? And how we can use it in the Rat Strategy to presumably identify the optimal pairs to trade?

FLOW checks the highs and lows to determine which way price is flowing.

REV checks the closes to see if price is reversing the flow.

In your EURJPY chart the price stopped flowing ( lower high and higher low ) and is reversing down ( close below previous close ).

Look at the times in the H1 chart you posted . They are correct.

What I should have done was issue and error message if the chart period is greater than H1.

Thanks.

I know there are various indicators that could be used to alert as to which side of the weekly you are on, but something real simple just occurred to me and let me toss it out to you for future consideration:

Maybe TRO_Bias_EZ could be modified to add an arrow for the weekly candle. And if you wanted to be real fancy, you could have an on/off switch for the weekly and an input that allows you to select when D1 opens.

Change one of the inputs to 10080 if you want the weekly bias to show.

myPeriod1 = 60;
myPeriod2 = 1440;
