Just trying to get any possible second entry strategy (after trade zones entry/close) worked out...
If anyone would post a couple ideas on picking up additional shorts, please let me know...

p.s. - I'm re-reading "The Big Picture Trading Strategy" by Avery T. Horton, Jr. (Thanks TRO)

Kirk,
FYI, what I post on my blog is a completely different trading strategy (ie. longer term) than the BuySell Zones.
I don't post my scalping trades because it would be a pain in the neck. As Avery stated though, you can use the S/R with Fibs if you need another setup.
For myself this morning I was -5 long, +5 long on the B/S for the Russell this morning. I can't say I was too fussed though because I was bringing home the bacon on the EURUSD and USDJPY. Nailed 10 pips net after several good trades. Done for the day.

Eudaimonia (pron.: you-die-moan-e-a) (Greek: εὐδαιμονία) is a classical Greek word commonly translated as 'happiness'. The less subjective "human flourishing" is often preferred as a translation.

What's happened to you over at the TS Forum and what did their Forum Police do to you? When they cut you off from their forum, do they also force you to close out your trading account as well?
Patch
Patch,
Maybe a wrong choice of words. I burnt the bridges with TS and went to NT. I figured it would force me to learn NT. Big learning curve, but I am betting on Michal opinion and Edwards.

i'd like to open a discussion on risk/reward scenarios using the buyzone. i am trying to trade it on the russell, er2. i found that by stopping at -.5 with a .5 profit- the volatility of the russell was taking me out, while it still followed through eventually. this makes sense because to get to the buyzone for instance- the russell would make a 1-2 point move. so a .5 retracement before it follows through and trades through the zone is not unsual.
by extending my risk to 1 point, i increased my odds significantly for a profitable trade. however- i also need to win two .5 trades to make up for a 1 point loss.
i am still in the process of practicing these odds by either continuing trading this way and see if i can still win on the buyzone > 66% of the time, or if i can get a closer to 1:1 ratio by increasing my profit, while maintaining the 1 point risk.
so what this comes down to is odds of a good trade based on a larger risk tolerance; as well as detirmining the ideal spot to take profits. essentially, a .5 zone on the er2 just may not have been big enough in the first place.
please post your experiences, whether its the er2 or another instrument in figuring out what to build your zone around as well as what risk you need to assume to get it to trade through the zone consistently.
thank,
jason
