This week I haven't been trading a lot due to personal circumstances but I also was trying to figure out why I keep hovering between -1% and -5% and am not able to do normal trades. Unfortunately I haven't found out so this week I will just wind the clock back a couple of weeks and try to "unlearn" what happened last 3 weeks and see what that brings me. Fingers crossed and I need to trust myself. If not, back to practicing.

You actually have something on the line other than pride. The mind acts wierd when that's the case. Some people can't mentally allow themselves to lose 1 penny or the ego bullies them.

True..that's why I am breaking my head because the only thing that's actually on the line (beside my pride indeed) is the $ I payed for the test.
That's not a lot of money...still...apparently it manages to make me do all funny things when trading.
I think I need to work harder but search for learning points in myself instead of trying to find them on my chart.

Green on the evaluation account. NQ scalping - roughly 35 points. I swapped to demo account and would of given it back after the market open. I have been doing that as my go to move to not give gains back. If the gains were fast and quick at the open, step away or switch to demo. I am in a better spot to evaluate why I am giving gains back and also realizing that fast and quick does not usually last, you will get consolidation. Patience, execute.

I blew my trial account :(
Today initially was a good day because I made 3.5% profit.
Exactly the same as I did yesterday.
During NY I lost it al again and then some more.
Exactly the same as happened yesterday only now apparently I hit -5%.

I'm going to take a day or so to fix my ego and try to figure out what went wrong.
I really feel stupid and down now.

Well thats not going to help.
You never can tell but if you are up 3.5% before NY starts then maybe you shouldnt trade NY session.

Try to analyze what you did during the trial. (Trading and Mental)

This is actually something I just don't know what to think about and is on my list with questions to resolve.
If I am up x% should I stop trading to protect my gains (and limit my upside)?
Should I do that depending on the situation?
For instance; getting there "by coincidence" vs getting there in a strong trending market with much more potential?

It doesn't feel logical to stop trading because the market doesn't know I'm up X% and it can't influence it.
Only I can influence it, so stopping because I might sabotage myself sounds ok-ish.
The trials forced me to stop trading if I was down a certain % so I would still be alive the next day.
Obviously I understand why but it also doesn't feel logical to do that.

Last weekend I figured out what the reasons were I wasn't performing in the test. (I hope I have found all the reasons)
I'll have to face these challenges and figure out how I can handle them

What I was saying is if your performance in NY is generally not stella then stay away from it, especially if you have some nice gains.

Also what is logical mathematically does not mean your emotions will follow

10 Triangular MA + 10 MA shifted neg1

vs

MACD:

Here is a larger chart, this time the GBPJPY, same TF:

I put vertical lines where the MACD flipped:

The main difference between the two is that the 10/10 works better when price is trending:

This is how the last chart played out:

Both indicators crossed up twice during the congestion and gave similar sell signals,

but the MACD, as always, crossed up during the trend:
