I agree with what you posted. I missed out on
having at least 30% more this month because
sideways action "shaking" me out. Having
that happen is easier when my risk is higher.

Your 5% - 20% calculation, is that based on your first, initial entry, or were you planning to do a few more add-ins throughout?

based on initial entry. It was an OPM trade with about
5% risked. There were no adds planned. I know adding
can be great, but I am not the greatest at it. More of
a personality thing.

I was reading FF forums, oh man
Those people are like starving wolves. Every
little thing they will fight over. They think
that there is a "holy grail". They think that
there is only one way to trade.

Very strange environment.

I hardly look anymore - its a "time blasting" waste of time for me - getting into viewing their petty arguments, its almost a form of entertainment, reading the posts - but that takes the struggling trader away from the path leading to freedom - The REAL work everyone has to put in.

There must be the highest proportion of live full time traders here in the calm atmosphere of Kreslik than anywhere on the trading web

EDIT - Although if you've already made it - there's nowt wrong with a bit of entertainment :)

Aliassmith one thing I did to help me hold trades longer was to just turn off the computer. If your good with your market analysis your gonna end up in profit. Or anything over 30% gained in a week, I use the next week for my longer term trades. That way im still getting paid for all the work I did that week and it kind of mentally free's me not to worry if I lose those trades. Hope that might help.

Here is a trade I actually just took. I'm aiming for the crash zone as my tp. So at least a 250 pip gain and if I lose it means nothing to me. I made my min last week so this is a free trade for me. Once you start placing these type of trades and having them hit and you make 50-100% gain in a day you will never take a trade off earIy again. I have to say incorporating long term ideas into my day trading has been one of the best things I have ever done for my trading skills

So crash zone is your basic strategy? If not what is your basic trading premise?
