is this what wick in direction of loss means? wait for bodies to close (preferably breakouts) away from these areas? indicator shows wick size, green is upper wick, red is lower.

ignore the horizontal lines thats a different idea im toying with

I would say not in the traditional sense, but you might be on to something possibly a new bias.

The ideas are far simpler than that. . .

when you watch price rise it is bodies that are closing higher, not a series of wicks; bodies are the 'direction of profit' & wicks are 'the direction of loss'.

On 1 to 5 minute charts you are not considering wicks at all as you only use wicks when the time compression hides 'significant' price moves.

so ignoring the wicks is this closer to what yall are talking about with what body in direction of profit is?

IMO, wicks can give you a lot of information, not just bodies. Just need a little logic at a level you think it may bounce from.

Ignore the ma's and trendlines and it's another piece of the puzzle:

The whole d-mn down rotation was saying 'south'. . .
but if you are long then you want to see a body in the direction of profit.

Again, you use wicks when the hidden price moves are 'significant' & only you can decide what that is.

This charts 'V' as a higher TF wick means a hell of a lot more than the wick of a 5 minute candle; all wicks are not created equal.
