In the next week or two Imma open a Ninja micro account so I can trade Dow and ES.
At least I'll have access to it so I can start getting familiar to the platform.

Is this the best broker/way to start with futures?
1st of November I go to next stage of trading plan.

Don't forget your data package

This is why I would go to futures/indexes.
1/5th to 1/4th the margin required per lot size.

Easier to get to target lot size.
Also, isn't it like 1/2 the "spread" cost when trading dow and es?

Margin per mico is about $40
Data is about $30/month
Commission was about 2 ticks/trade
Spread was 2+ ticks
Thats the info when I traded them

Micros cost more to trade than the mini

There are a couple of "cool" things about futures
You could be margin called
You could get limit up or down locked into a trade
You could owe more money than you invested

Do your due diligence PRO its a different game.

I purposely don't show all my cards on here but I prefer trading the DOW through the US30.

Why you may ask? Because they don't cost average your positions or use FIFO.

It was really a toss up between focusing on the EU or that.

The US30 is one of my favourites. USTech is also featuring more and more.

Is USTech the nasdaq?
I have the US100 which is nasdaq I believe.

NQ is like the GPB/JPY of forex.... When starting out I recommend the micro ES (the USD/JPY of forex) or my favorite YM (DOW) seems to fall right down the middle. While all three trade the same direction. Often I trade the micro ES but base all my trades and Charting off the mini ES, works well. I have buddies that trade the CFD's out of Thailand, they love the USDollar and Nikkei. Nikkei is great during Asian Session. Just a suggestion, pick 2 and learn them, breath them, get to know there every nuance. :) I have never understood traders that constantly change what they are trading. Just an opinion.

I was looking at this today. The way it moves it could be scalped based on whole points instead of ticks.
An ATR of 12 could be used as a SL.
30 points could be 1% - on the M1 covering 2 hours chart during US there was plenty of points to get.
Doing it this way I think the costs would be minimized.
Doing it this way cost(spread plus comm.) should be less than $2/micro-contract.
Risk would be about $12 per loss looking to average at least $18 per gain or better.
Account size per micro $6000 conservatively.

Full mini lot would be about $110 risk looking for $180 average gain or better.
Low lots available on this index, but if you want to trade 3-6 lots it could work.
Account size per mini $60,000 conservatively.

If you need those big lot sizes then EU and SP500 have a lot of volume

Hmm :!:

Had a Doc's check in appointment at 13.35 today, so caught this set up and ran it with the stop set and as I was being driven, managed the thing on my phone as it triggered and ran.

Set it up off an entry via a pullback to the Z-Line Kill-Zone to get a better price and also to give me a smaller stop should I have gotten it wrong.

Took 1:1.5 on the first move...

Came out of the Doctors' office and although I had missed the better second Z-Line entry on the next leg, I did get the standard Dead Horse ''in''.

This one went straight to 1:2

I closed it as we were driving and I was getting carsick looking down at my phone! :P :P :P

All good.
