Would you say that regardless of the method you had been using over the years (be it "Anatomy of Draining the Banks", "Draining the Banks Rev. 8", "Draining the Banks Rev. 9", "Drain the Banks - Like A Rat" --{Anybody else see a pattern theme here??}--, or "Buy Zone"), your mentality / how you approached trading on a daily basis was always as in the below post?

TheRumpledOne wrote:if price moves in your favor 2 pips and then stops...

if you do not take 2 pips and lose 10

who is to blame?

here's what happens...

first trade...

price moves up 2 and stops

trader takes 2 pips and then price zooms up another 20 + pips

trader gets mad

second trade

price moves up 2 pips and stops

trader THINKS and decides NOT to take the 2 pips

price drops and stops trader out

so... 2 + 2 = 4 (RAT)

or

2 - 10 = -8 (YALE STUDENT)

YOU DECIDE

WHEN PRICE STOPS MOVING... DO YOU KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT?

the idea is to be PROFITABLE PERIOD

Yes.

@ TygerKrane,

Thanks for the tips about online charts. Appreciate it, but it still won't work for me as I cannot install any programs on work computer - it wants to update Java.

Also, for me, no use having charts if I cannot trade. I use Metatrader but I cannot connect my personal laptop to company intranet. Even back a year ago when we could, there was all sorts of problems getting programs to connect because of the proxy issues, not to mention inputting user name and password into some programs.

They made it all too hard, so just have to wait until my days off.....

@ Snowman

You could leave your pc on at home and access it remotely from work using a free program like logmein. I used to do that from work to watch the charts.

@ Pro Trader,

Interesting concept, however, I only have a laptop, no PC at home. Also, I checked it out, there is a requirement to install the LogMeIn software and this company PC system is locked down - you need to be Administrator to do anything like that.
Thanks for the suggestion, John

PS - normally there is some other way to connect eg, with a private satellite dish someone has already setup, but on this remote location there is nothing. I even researched and thought about getting a BGAN setup, Google that!

@ Snowman as long as you have internet connection at home it should work. It doesn't have to be a PC I used it with my laptop.

You only need to install the software on your laptop then you can access it from anywhere using a login on their website.

@ bredin, no, not even mobile, remote means remote! only company VSAT connection for now. my iPhone 3GS is having withdrawals symptoms!

@ PT, ok then, I will have to setup logmein on my laptop while I am in town next week, then go somewhere else and test it out. I guess it has to be set to never go to sleep? thanks

@ Snowman,
Use your environment to your advantage!!

Throw some sand into your computer, and have your IT guys fix THAT as well as update your internet browsers JAVA. Java is a basic function of internet use, so hopefully updating Java wouldn't be such a security issue for your IT guys.

Or trade WEEKLY Flying Buddhas :D (but that would be for discussion in another thread, not this one.)
