Bullish signal was 1 bar ago and bearish was 6 bars ago.

If the auto trigger is used, it is set at the low of the 2 bars. You can override it by entering the number of pips for your stop loss.

Thanks, Avery.

What are the significane of knowing when the last bullish/bearish signal candle was? tfg

No real significance.

But sometimes traders want to know how long since the last signal.

Avery,

After I 've taken profit in a green rat trade, price goes back to the signal entry price. In this situation, do you re-enter for a second trade on the same candle?

OPPORTUNITY

TRO when you say 'opportunity' and you post this picture....are you referring to the range of the open and close of the candle? or to what?

I AM A GREEN RAT.

OPPORTUNITY = CLOSE - LOW (ClOp) <= 20.

When you talk about the Close here, are you refering to the close of the current candle and the low is the low of the day or is the low also the low of the current candle?

And the ClOp and HiCl are those also refering to the current candle or the daily candle?

Can you help me out on this?

Phil

No. Not usually. If price moved in my direction and I took profit and price return to my entry then price is NOT moving in my direction.

Price would have to move BELOW the entry far enough that it had some momentum when it returns to my entry heading in my direction.

The daily candle IS the current daily. This is on a D1 time frame.

Ok, perhaps i did ask the wrong question. What i meant is when you´ve got a M5 chart with the ClOp, HiCl and ClLo on it. Those are refering to the daily Low isn´t? (the ClLo i mean) and the ClOp and HiCl refer to the current M5 candle?

NO. If the indicator is set for D1, it reads for D1 no matter what chart it is on.

RAT enter price

Postby tfg » Fri May 21, 2010 5:01 pm

Avery,

What is the reasoning behind "enter at the high (or low) of the previous candle"? Why not at the "close"? What statistics (if any) support that?

The reason I ask this is that I notice I get stopped out quite often at 10pip SL. (cable, jpy cross). If I enter at "close" of the previous candle, it seems to give me more breathing space.

Comment please. Thanks.

Green Rat Clarification

Postby trueblueTEX » Wed May 26, 2010 12:03 pm

Hey TRO!! Hope you had a blast in Monaco and at Cannes

I have a question about Green Rat Entry.

1. Red Candle closes
2. Green Candle closes
3. next Candle (green or red) does NOT hit high of Green Candle in number 2.
4. the Candle AFTER it does.

Do you take that as an entry or do DTB Green Rats only take an entry on candle number 3 if and only if it DOES hit the high of the previous Green Candle.

In other words, does a DTB Green Rat go long on the Pink (or Magenta?) line in this picture?

Thanks!!!
Tex
