Best of luck. Which is exactly what your trading is based on.......

Your words are blasphemous, malicious, and devoid of logic.

It is clear that your only purpose here is to arouse anger and contempt.

You know NOTHING of Christianity or trading and I wish that you would not add to your list of recorded ignorance.

For the record, this thread is DRAIN THE BANKS REV 8.

DRAIN THE BANKS REV 8 is the topic of this thread and that is where the discussion should be focused.

I hope I have made that clear.

Point taken.

I didn't realise so many people would be so touchy with my valid comparison between trading and religion. No wonder so many people are murdered every year in the name of religion. Anyway, onwards.

OK. If as you seem to think, the markets are pretty random, then your logic of tight stops and allowing profits to run seems valid. The guy who runs GBot (see previous post of mine) and has a thread on the ET forum uses a bot to work the market and which loads the trades with the prevailing market direction mechanically. This way his profitable trades outnumber his losing ones. And he appears to do quite well.

However, my question is this. If you think the best methodology is tight stops, trade in one direction, let profits run, then why the proliferation of indicators ?

bredin

Yesterday afternoon I lost my connection for the night some time after you posted your modified Semafor line charts and TRO around 4pm said good work & thanks. (I see a lot posts followed that I've glanced through, and glad I missed the lot of them. Some people just don't seem to follow the simple rules of stick to the thread topic, and be polite and don't seem to belong here among gentlemen and ladies and I for one very much appreciate TRO's moderation.)

Enough said, bredin, thinking about your question about does anyone care about the previous Semafors? Would you be able to include a switch that allows the line pairs for previous sema's as these may leave clues as areas of support and resistance; and include line color selection.

Great job and rendering,
Thank you,

Patch

So, Bredin. Are you going to post your template and modded indicators?

Like to see 'em

bredin wrote:I was playing with DTB r8 template with about 7 or 8 open charts and noticed my machine struggling to keep up with the load.

With not much to do on the weekend, I thought Id try to hack out a few "useless" cycles. So I stripped down the semaphore code since old semaphores are more-or-less useless :)

About an hour later I decided to try to pretty up the DTB some, make it a bit less cluttered, and (even only to myself) more readable, without losing too much data.

This is the result

See the usual dots are replaced by lines, and show only the current '1' semaphore (5 period) DSR values. (does anyone actually care about the previous values?)

note how the chart slides behind the info panels so their info no longer gets obscured by the chart, not sure if this is necessarily a good thing yet, but was interesting to code for a part timer :)

Im thinking I may do the same infopanel thing for the better volume indicator next.

Let me know if you like it or not

@ Patch;
The reason for modding the semaphore was to relieve cpu usage, since that indi is quite intense, but now that youve mentioned it , yes I can put in a switch in case you need to see the earlier semaphores, which brings me to..

@foreman;
I was waiting for someone to request them before posting, if theres no interest, why bother eh?

So if you two give me a few hours (its almost dinner time here) I'll post my template and modifed indicators.

First let me say that my template is based on a widesreen @ 1680x1050.

now a rundown of modifed indicators

3_Level_ZZ_Semafor_II_MODIFIED_VERSION
cpu.saver : set to true to lessen the cpu load, false to see all the old semaphores

II_DTB_MM
multimeter combining candle color, stopvol and breakouts
Drop.Shadows turns the drop shadow on/off

TRO_DYNAMIC_FIBS_SR_Trail_II
show.lines turns the lines on/off
Dots.ON turns the dots on/off
Drop.Shadows turns the infoblock drop shadows on/off

II_Trade_InfoBlock_lite
displays ask/bid price, spread, H1 time remaining, and pair.
TimerBar displays current chart timeframe

There are some coding issues that I am aware of, there are probably more that I am not :)

EDIT - UPDADED TO FIX CERTAIN ISSUES WITH IRRELEVANT INDICATOR CALLS
