Thom:

Your chart is a MASTERPIECE!

I love those horizontal lines.

Can you make the candles red/green? The reason I ask is, I always say go long on green and short on red and some people might not know which way to trade on white/black.

Thom, your next assignment is to make a version that plots the WEEKLY OPEN, HIGH, MIDDLE, LOW, CLOSE on a daily/hourly chart.

Re: MT4 session open-close indicator

Postby rbt » Thu Feb 15, 2007 7:34 pm

Accrete wrote:OK, i cobbled together something from what was once an idicator designed to show pivots. It now shows the open and close of a period of 24 hours of your choosing. It's not anything exciting, just two lines on a chart, one at the open and the other at the close of the session.

The only user changeable item is the "Time_Shift" that is defaulted to ZERO...but if you wish to see the day close one hour before NY then set to 23 if we have a GMT +2 feed... users can adjust this up and down by a given hour amount to get the "Session" they wish to view the high and low of. Each session begins on an hourly candle, and ends on an hourly candle.

Here is the indicator:

$TrillionStrategySessions.mq4

and here is a screen shot showing the session from 4pm Eastern to 3:59 Eastern...Twiddle the Time_Shift and you can be looking at any given 24 hour body open/close.

Thanks Thom for the chart.

I have some questions regarding this $Trillion methodology. There was talk of ending the day at 3.58PM but from what i have gathered these lines are plotted 24hours.

Also know that we are to look at the current Bar for the entry Green Long as for this case White would be long entry(this bar will be the daily and what time will this bar start?).May i know what time would the current bar be, an hour after session close perhaps 2?From what i have gathered there is a gap in the time.

Hmm as you guys can see i am not confused :D I am lost

Perhaps some arrows pointing to the entry bar etc will help.Thanks.
