Thx BP, you blessed me with your question and contact mate. No worries, and never a "bug" or bother.

Hey Avery? Though i tend to trade, or at least look for trades primarily w/the GbpUsd pair, i'm wondering if you've seen patterns with other pairs in the last hour before NY close and the swaps come into play that may show some consistancy in triggering trades leading up to NY close? I'll do some homework on my end, just wondering if you noticed anything that you wish to share that may be in context in this thread?

I'm thinking that some of the positive swap pairs might have some fairly consistent set ups leading to the swap-payout??

Cheers,
Thom

Are you talking about the rollover interest?

I abuse that every chance I get... LOL!!

"Are you talking about the rollover interest? "

Yes Avery, I was just wondering if you had seen some consitancy in any patterns on particular positive-rollover-interest pairs?

On down days, I just short the EURUSD and on up days I long the GBPUSD.

Nothing fancy :)

I thought I may be able to take advantage of the different session opens.

To install on your computer:

1) Setup the four different sessions on your computer but USE YOUR TIME ZONES.. I am in mountain time, 2 hours behind NY.

2) Download and import the indicators.

3) Open and save the workspace.

ELD and WORKSPACE attached. *** UPDATED ***

You just answered the question I was going to ask - can these be traded for 24 candles for all 4 forex time sessions, lol.

Not quite clear on why you mention what your time zone is -- your custom sessions all look based on ET. Do you mention that in case you have your symbol set for Local Time?
If you have your symbols set for "Exchange" Time, then the custom sessions should all work as your examples times show, right?

Thanks TRO!

MT4 session open-close indicator

Postby Accrete » Thu Feb 15, 2007 5:31 am

OK, i cobbled together something from what was once an idicator designed to show pivots. It now shows the open and close of a period of 24 hours of your choosing. It's not anything exciting, just two lines on a chart, one at the open and the other at the close of the session.

The only user changeable item is the "Time_Shift" that is defaulted to ZERO...but if you wish to see the day close one hour before NY then set to 23 if we have a GMT +2 feed... users can adjust this up and down by a given hour amount to get the "Session" they wish to view the high and low of. Each session begins on an hourly candle, and ends on an hourly candle.

Here is the indicator:

$TrillionStrategySessions.mq4

and here is a screen shot showing the session from 4pm Eastern to 3:59 Eastern...Twiddle the Time_Shift and you can be looking at any given 24 hour body open/close.

Cheers,
Thom

Accrete:

Thanks for providing the code!

Two horizontal lines on a chart can be very exciting because that's all you need to make a trillion dollars...LOL!

Looks like a long entry would have provide 10+ pips!

NICE WORK!

P.S. if you add yesterday's high, yesterday's low AND ( yesterday's high + yesterday's low) * .50, you'll almost have all the lines you'll ever need. :)
