Re: Aliassmith Beats a "Dead Horse"

Edit: I'll leave the post as it was, but I just noticed you updated the post with "Noticing a number of closes in a tight area is another way to identify a pattern" . That helps I think. Ah, that helps. But then a breakout isn't necessarily a close over the pattern? Could these pink areas...

Re: Aliassmith Beats a "Dead Horse"

It seems that context is really important but how one views the chart is subjective. There seems to be so much information to the left when you're about to enter. I don't know. Maybe I just haven't found a way to read the chart in a consistent manner. Are there any 'chart reading methods' out there...

Re: Aliassmith Beats a "Dead Horse"

Today I was trading and ended up with 1R. When my second trade turned south and nearly reached my SL I decided to close the trade to save one pip. Price immediately ran back up. ...I lost 1R. Later price came back and I opened a new position which brought me up to 2R but I got out after pric...

Re: Scalping: 3LZZ DSR

Hi!Good for you. 1.1R! Congrats... If you have that every day you have a 20% account gain per month! I don't really see a HH, HH, LH trade. Those are reversal trades. And if trade No1 is such a setup, it's not possible for trade 3 to be one again because we are still going down. Trade 1 and 3 were ...

Re: Scalping: 3LZZ DSR

Well today was messy, but still gotta post these. First trade SMA was flat, yes. But there was a strong move down and all those wicks were pointing up so I saw price not going up. Waited for a candle to close below and used that low as an entry. -1R Second trade SMA was pointing up and saw a candle ...

Re: Scalping: 3LZZ DSR

Back to it, a lot to unpack. It's getting messy to write everything I want on the chart so I hope it still reads well. A few missed trades, a few 'off' entries, and new questions  I think I need to trust some zlines more. #4 and #5 should've let them get to 1. #6 I don't know if it was a valid...

Re: NCA 2: THE CHARTBOOK

But can't really say how to translate it to the actual execution #-o Do you not remember the concept of 3 frame breaks separating down swings from up swings? - price closed lower - you are trading high swings in the down direction - you are trading price closing lower than a range of prices How do ...

Re: NCA 2: THE CHARTBOOK

1 hour chart, 3 hour sets on the GU. Maybe this could be my 'largest chart'. I'm only marking the price turns but some of these swings last quite some time. I don't know if I could just enter and exit on the underlaying H1 closes but maybe if I go down to a smaller chart I can enter there and build...

Re: NCA 2: THE CHARTBOOK

This is what I mean, for example using the latest turn short (H1 candles with H3 sets). Yellow line is the line to trade the short (close overs). GU_SwingH1.png And then entering and managing off the m5, with the idea to hold until the swing ends on the H1 with H3 sets. GU_SwingH1M5.png But can't re...
