60min and 5min candles

I remember reading somewhere (I forget where) a TRO post saying: Use the 5min and 60min charts to confirm the direction of your entry. Never trade against the 60min candle (green = long; red = short). My questions are: - Which system does this relate to - not the BuyZone I assume? - If 60min candle ...

Great data feed

Check out this site if you're looking for a great - and reliable - data feed, down to 1min timescales: http://www.opentick.com Realtime data isn't free, but they have a massive historical data download. Some of this is free. I have downloaded several years worth of 1min YM data - and the quality is ...

I've never had much time for fundamentals. You're never going to be privvy to the latest up to date information - and very often charts do different things to what is expected with the fundamentals. TRO sums it up very well on this site - know who is in control - the buyers or the sellers - and toge...

OK, here is my DynamicSR plotted. (I had to convert the indicator to Amibroker software - and think I have it correct - DynR = highest high in last x periods, 5 here). Would you be able to comment on why those long BZ trades whipsawed? Thanks. http://kreslik.com/forums/userpix/831_01_2.jpg

Understood on trading the Row 1 candle direction and using it as a trigger.

However, why put 5,60min and daily candle directions? Do you use these as added confirmation (ie. all these are green to confirm row 1)?

Buyzone - use of higher time frames

Hi Avery, Here's a problem I'm having a lot with the BZ: http://kreslik.com/forums/userpix/831_01_1.jpg I go long on the candles in the blue shaded area. However, there is a lot of whipsaw around the LongZone today, and I eventually lose money when my SL is hit in the green area. This happens again ...

Thanks Avery. I'm really focusing on the BZ now and trying to nail it on GBP:USD.

Do you only take a long trade if:

a) Green candle entering LongZone

AND

b) 60min candle = GREEN

AND

c) Daily candle = GREEN???

OK, thanks.

How far out of the Long/ShortZone should the DynamicSR dot be?

Is just outside OK, or do you not take the trade until the DynamicSR dot is +/- say 5 pips away from the zone?

BuyZone and Support/Resistance

Hi,

Does anyone discount a BuyZone/SellZone trade if the price is near support or resistance?

If so, which support/resistance lines do you use - and what rules?

Thanks,
Alex
