@bitcy Credentials don't make the trader. I'm sure everyone here has an impressive background. I went to two ivy league universities (harvard & columbia). My dayjob salary is US $21K/month as an all around quant with many hats from systems to risk and portfolio manager. Note this is not includin...

@ryan...

Yes, we can explicitly translate the FPI to a money value. I just haven't thought about the equation yet...

Umm sorry ryan. I take the statement back. FPI is a coefficient with no units since they all cancel in the equation. I THINK!!! :?:

@bitcy... I am so thankful for traders like yourself. Perhaps in japan, things are a bit different. Unlike yourself, I deal with transactions that are at a minimum $.5B a clip. That means, every time we hang up the phone, we have put a $.5B of risk on the line. Do you know what it is to trade $500M ...

@Ryan For me, an FPI moving average does not add value to my trading decision simply because any moving average longer than 1 period will lag. Since a 1 period moving average is simply the current FPI value, the indicator would be redundant for me. What I do agree about is the optimization of profit...

@ryan A couple of comments. I could not find your attachment in the download section so I cannot verify your analysis and how you can take advantage of the information you have identified... As for slippage, it is merely a component of how long any particular FPI value is present. For clarity, let's...

@ Nicholishen There is definitely an EXPLICT way to trade the rings (ie. NO GUESSWORK). Check my earlier post. I went through an explicit logical walkthrough of what is to trade an "IMPECCABLE HEDGE". There shouldn't be any confusion whatsoever at anytime as to what to expect, what to do, ...

@Ryan... 1. When to open a trade is anytime there is a reasonable unbalance. So pull in more rigorous stats. Furthurmore, you want to continually cycle between being LONG and SHORT the spread so as to continually pull profits... In other words, when FPI<1, you want to BBS, assuming the ring is (EUR/...

Yes, obviously we are going to be buying at the Ask and selling at the Bid, but the question at hand is which direction do we trade the ring (buy,sell,ell OR sel,buy,buy)? Lets do a quick experiment. Say we have a perfect world and the FPI of the above meantion ring starts at one (or closest to 1 w...
